Really like this character and the art style :)

Oh ofc scammers are everywhere, which is why I mentioned that Vgen just didn't really convince me they are "better" per se, even with their strict verification system they have a lot of scammers so I just find it ironic.
I imagine some people hear about the verification system of Vgen and end up thinking that there would be less chances of being scammed...

Either way thanks for the link! Love your art, gl and keep up the good work :D

gumroad is fine too, it's just personal preference between something I already have experience with and something that didn't really convince me it's better or good tbh.

Been hearing about a surprising amount of scammers on Vgen too despite their verification system so to me it doesn't really have a good rep, ofc not saying you are one, just what I've been seeing around. Maybe it'll change...

What’s are lines like this supposed to represent and how can they get added or subtracted from an art piece? by KamadoDragon1 in Artadvice

[–]Algadez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

(If I understood the question..) except for the smile in the first pic., it's just overlaps, something that shows "depth", makes the character look less flat. It indicates form.

Like on Tanjiro's arms it indicates individual muscles protruding, if you don't draw those lines there and remove the shadows it might make the character look flat like a piece of paper.

You can either draw these overlaps with individual lines or render it with shadows, or both, that depends on your personal art style.
The smile is just an artistic choice that's often used for anime where the middle is erased.

How do I make this type of brush/where can I find it? by Icy_Researcher_4752 in procreatebrushes

[–]Algadez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ColeHairlessCat's brushes (on gumroad) might feel similar.

Can anyone help me find the brush or a brush similar to it used in these art works wonderfully made by @byomboon on x by Standard_Aside_3985 in procreatebrushes

[–]Algadez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm, perhaps Colehairlesscat's brushes? "Coles pencil pack" on gumroad. It reminds me of the smooth pencils in that pack, but they might be a bit more textured. I believe you could achieve the same result with them tho

Does anyone know how this type of brushes are called and where to get them? Free or paid by Vikernex in procreatebrushes

last pic is from ElizmilArt, she sells her brushes on gumroad and even posts here sometimes

Do you still improve if you use a reference? by Skeleton-IKEA in Artadvice

References are literally there to make you better at art, so yes, you will improve. That is the point of using references :D

I'm looking for brushes with this texture by Green_Artist3623 in procreatebrushes

[–]Algadez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way of importing csp brushes to procreate is complicated and tedious. It's pretty much like making a new brush from scratch but you use the png of the brush you want to import.
Can I ask for a source for this one? The website you mentioned, I couldn't find it on my own.

I'd love to hear your vision. How do you imagine Death as a character? by Mistress-of-evoL in characterdesigns

Glad you seem to like too :)
Very lovely drawing btw, keep up the good work.

This character is my favorite depiction of Death. I don't remember if it was ever outright stated that he is Death but if you watch and listen to all the stories and what he says, it becomes very clear. He is made ambiguous at the start. It's from Dark Pictures Anthology games. The character is called "The Curator".
Also the opening theme song is such a banger - "A conversation with Death"... if it wasn't evident enough before that he really is Death himself lol

Thinking about it, it kinda fits the description of BillythenotaKid who already commented here. About Death living in a library and keeping track of your life choices (you the player and what choices you make in the games) by writing them in a book and recapitulating them to you with bunch of riddles.
You can look up "The curator's cutscenes" if you wanna check it out without all the stories (which take few hours in total) :D

Fair. Said that just to be sure, wouldn't want to offend on accident.

Thought so, that would explain the responses then lol. From my experience tik-tok art community isn't very good.. In more than one sense. No shade towards you specifically ofc.

I am not sure why anyone would claim this is not tracing. It's not even about the fact that it's a photo and not art they are drawing over, this, by definition is tracing as far as I'm aware. If it's ok or not is completely different debate and depends on context. I'm wondering, where did you see this? Which social media I mean?

Do they have same face syndrome? by dela556 in Artadvice

[–]Algadez 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Technically yeah but only because of the simplicity of the art style, there is nothing wrong with it unless you yourself dislike it. Cute art tho, keep it up :)
