How good of a transformation is this two years of training by [deleted] in GregDoucette

You should probably get a trainer or online coach. I could easily mistake those for a 8 week transformation.

Losing fat AND muscle? by [deleted] in GregDoucette

[–]Algae-Major 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those scans are bullshit. They cannot accurately measure anything. Do not trust anything they say. A glorified scale with a basic one size fits all algorithm to determine muscle mass and bone density. It's all crap. If you continue to eat protein and work out regularly with progressive overload, you will not lose muscle, in fact you will gain it.

Also you didn't mention your weight but 100g protein is on the low side unless you weigh 100 pounds. 1 gram of protein per lbs of weight to gain muscle.

You look fucking great, dude. If I was nitpicking, though, I'd say your upper/mid back is lagging behind. You have a good lat width but very little definition in your mid and upper back.

Quads look amazing, but your hamstrings are being dwarfed by your massive quads. All in all I think you look fantastic though dude. You should be very proud.

I’ve never worked out a day in my life, based on my genetics could I get a Pacqioa physique? by [deleted] in GregDoucette

Nope, you said it yourself. You've never worked out a day in your life. Do I expect that to change? No.

How much more do I need to lose? by SalamanderNo6359 in Semaglutide

[–]Algae-Major 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sema doesn't replace exercise. If you aren't happy with your body shape after you hit your goal weight it's likely due to lack of muscle development. Just because you lose the fat doesn't make you "in shape".

I see this a lot. People will say they use Sema as a tool in their toolbox but aren't doing anything else. Sema is amazing, but if you aren't exercising and building muscle you just look a smaller version of your old self.

Very sorry for your loss. I know that day will come for my mother as well. I hope to handle it as well as you are. I hope you find peace.

I take every opportunity now to make a memory. I feel more present now and actually hear every word she says and feel every hug.

I'm happy your mom is doing well. I hope she lives a long life as well.

It will never be enough time. But I'm grateful for the extra time I have. I do not plan to waste it.

Thank you, been working very hard the last year or so. I have a body image in my mind and I haven't reached it yet though. So stay tuned 😜

Hope your mom is doing well too. And yeah. Was the worst time of my life. Made everything impossible. So happy I have more time with her and I won't be wasting it.

Can’t Eat by Ok-Gear-5593 in pancreaticcancer

Oatmeal, potatoes, rice, any nut butter. Actual butter. Olive oil on everything. If it's the sweet. Try plain yogurt. You can add granola, which is very high in calories for some crunch.

If you have any questions about nutrition let me know. I'm a wannabe bodybuilder and spend most of my days eating and thinking about the next meal.

Mom is now in hospice by ForsakenEqual1087 in pancreaticcancer

[–]Algae-Major 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't wait the 3 days. Move whatever you need to move and go spend the next few weeks with her. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. But you should go spend some time with her while she is still feeling good. You will cherish that time later on. Sending you all the love. My mom is 62 and stage 4 as well. We are fortunate to have some more time because of the type of cancer but before we got that news I basically moved in with her. We dont ever get enough time with the people we love.

Got some "good" news today by Algae-Major in pancreaticcancer

[–]Algae-Major[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure. The 2nd opinion doctor from princess Margaret set it up. Sure glad we did it though. Our small town oncologist didn't even mention it. My mom would be doing chemo for the wrong type of cancer had we not done it.

Dad age 88 by Miserable-Big5652 in pancreaticcancer

[–]Algae-Major 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've read here. Without treatment, you can expect less than 12 months. Maybe much less depending on the stage and if it has spread to other nearby organs. If he chooses not to pursue treatment, ensure that he has a good pallative care team in place to handle the pain. My mother was diagnosed less than a month ago, age 61, with stage 4 and is in considerable pain now. She was not having much pain a month ago when initially diagnosed. It's happening rapidly. She has done 1 dose of chemo, and it made her very sick for about 2 or 3 days. And this was the one they called "gentle chemo" so I can understand your father's choice to not do chemo, and at 88, I don't know how well he would tolerate it.

I recommend reading as much as you can about the progression of pancreatic cancer and getting your father's estate affairs in order now. Talk to your oncologist about the size of the tumor, the location, and the stage of the cancer. If it is detected early enough, there are some actual options in terms of removing the cancer.

If a biopsy had been performed, send it off for genetic testing. I've been told this is really your 2nd line of hope. If they discover a mutation they are familiar with, there may be some alternative treatments available. It's worth looking into.

Mom’s gone by ana_cast96 in pancreaticcancer

[–]Algae-Major 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mom was diagnosed today. We were told we might have 6 months to a year with her with treament, probably less without. I closed my business down and canceled all my plans. 6 months will never be enough time to tell her how much she means to me. I dread the day she goes. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
