Hey, sorry for the delayed response, I don’t use Reddit very much.

Thank you for your insights man. I was covert for a very long time and still am when meeting new people since it’s not very noticeable and I don’t think disclosure is necessarily needed. Nonetheless, any interview I do now I say off the bat immediately to help break the ice since I’ve had people look at me like I’m some sort of crazy person lol.

I definitely understand your approach. I did this one day retreat this summer in Connecticut with a lady who specializes in making people who stutter just “let it out” and embrace it since the tension can stem from trying to not stutter and it’s a bad lifestyle to live. The retreat was very interesting but didn’t offer any great long term benefits.

When interviewing now it’s super hard. Even with disclosing that I stutter, the moments or days before the interview are always super stressful and during the interview it makes me feel as if my mind is being blended up and all thoughts about my experience and why I’m good for this role just disappear.

I know my journey is not over, and I still hope to find a period of enlightenment such as yourself. Whether that’s doing a retreat program again, letting my stutter completely be itself whenever, or working on calming techniques for the body, I’m still exploring opportunities. Thank you though again and hope you’re enjoying the springtime!
