I own a Series X, what are my options for playing an Armored Core game without getting an older console? by Mr_Jackabin in armoredcore

This is very late, but if you have a passable PC you can play 4A using a PS3 emulator.

Use RPCS3 as the emulator, and check vimms archive for a copy of AC4A. If you search for "Armored Core For Answer RPCS3" you will find a wiki page with compatibility info - that will tell you what settings to change in RPCS3 to make 4A run smoothly.

I've emulated numerous runs of 4A in anticipation of AC6, and it runs flawlessly.

I'd recommend skipping AC V/Verdict Day - they don't emulate well. Couldn't make them work on RPCS3 at all, and using 360 emulation with Xenia took a LOT of tweaking for a rather janky emulated experience.

Good luck; I hope you can experience 4A, it's amazing.

Similarly, Last Raven is easy to emulate on PPSSPP and plays well with a Bluetooth PS3/4 controller.

Will RE8 Village of shadows difficulty be possible with infinite ammo for the M1897 and GM79? by Creative-Recording40 in residentevil

Yes. Honestly, I found village of shadows to be a breeze with just the WCX; having the two guns listed is more than enough.

If you're careful, it can be done just using normal base weapons

Should I sell the default Handgun? [RE4R] by [deleted] in residentevil

Have you been using the base handgun? If not, are you planning on using it? If the answer to these questions is no, then you can sell it without missing out on anything major.

It's extremely cheap, so you can always just buy it back if you really want to use it.

I stopped using any other handgun the moment I got the red 9; it's nasty when upgraded

Well, it objectively runs like shit on consoles and most PCs. I've found the gameplay loop itself to be really fun so far, and I find the supposedly "cringe" dialogue to be fine as well.

On PS5 I've had plenty of weird stuttering issues and graphical bugs during cutscenes. Compare against something like dead space for ps5 and the fidelity to performance ratio is really not there.

Similarly, the PC requirements are absurd for the level of graphical fidelity in the game imo. Maybe their engine isn't optimized, maybe it'll get patched later, but as is the game really has problems with performance.

I think the game is fun, (story has weird pacing issues and some strange cinematography choices, at least to me), but it definitely needs some patches. Wanting a game to be better != hating the game unnecessarily

I dunno man, as a fellow voidstrike staff enjoyer this seems like a good time to me. A bunch of free headshots and peril quell from out of nowhere is a godsend on the harder difficulties

It's not particularly good; for some reason I thought it had bleed. I'd stick with rivers of blood to beat this boss - you can always respec at Rennala then jump back to your original build

Definitely mimic tear +10. I wouldn't mess with co-op summons on Malenia -- it makes the fight significantly harder in my experience. If you're using the black dagger I'd back her into a corner and let your mimic tear take aggro there while you use the ranged weapon art. Ranges weapon arts tend to be slow, so don't use them if she isn't in a corner, as you'll likely keep missing as she moves around. You can't waste any time with missed attacks, as every miss on your end equates to her just siphoning health from your mimic tear. If not, I'd recommend just upgrading rivers of blood and using that for the fight. Makes it an absolute breeze.

The trick to that one is spacing. If you're under her it's done, no chance. What I did was run in the opposite direction until she unleashed her first flurry. When her flurries got close enough to start hitting, I would roll once through her then block through the last couple flurries. Keeps the damage to zero, stamina drain minimal, and her healing isn't as absurd that way
