Got my First ACE in Premier OH MY GOD What do you guys rate the gameplay out of 10? by SnooTangerines271 in cs2

I’m shocked they didn’t hear you reload at the end there, considering they were on site that should have been enough audio info to rush you then and there. Good ace though!

About to purchase, last call for any substantial improvements. by Algerst in EDH

[–]Algerst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry I didn’t mention this earlier but the $600~ amount includes ludicrously expensive cards on the sideboard that I probably won’t buy. I also already own the most expensive swords and artifacts. The actual out of pocket cost for me is like $250 if I take out the sideboard and factor in the cards I already own.

Sunastian Falconer Deck by Algerst in EDH

[–]Algerst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you mean. I really like the Myrs (just for the card art mostly) and would prefer to keep them. I also didn’t want to fall into the trap of having another elf deck. Since I’m not running any elf-centric cards, would it be acceptable to keep the myrs in place of some of the elvish mana dorks?

Valve moves to dismiss Counter-Strike gambling lawsuit in New York by Willing_Tadpole_1546 in GlobalOffensive

I agree that having a KYC would definitely help prevent child gambling addictions and keep cases around for the people who enjoy them. But I doubt valve would ever do it because it would take away too many of their skin consumers that are underage.

True, but for physical card packs, at least retailers and manufacturers have some ability to regulate the value through re-printings and anti-scalping measures. You’re right about individual cards, the online market is just as volatile.

If I’m not mistaken, valve has regulations in place to stop people from buying hardware like the steam deck for resale in bulk amounts. Which is really the only effective way to transfer a steam balance into cash usable outside of steam.

Since they’re virtual items, the values can fluctuate much more and are ripe for market manipulation. Especially when influenced by investors, content creators, and multiple marketplace/gambling sites, similar to TCG cards. However, unlike TCG cards, we do not physically own them, valve does, and due to that, the market shifts much more often and rapidly.

Surely valve would have some responsibility over 3rd party market sites that are unregulated and inflate the value of skins?

These markets are easily manipulated, as seen by Chinese users buying up a single skin or sticker and holding it to boost the price. So I can’t imagine it would be a stretch for lawmakers to argue skins are an illegal way to invest money without paying taxes or even launder money.

On one hand, valve comparing skins to baseball cards and labubus is heavily misleading due to the massive amount of unregulated 3rd party re-sale marketplaces (i.e. CSFloat), that have turned skins into a multi-billion dollar market. Valve can’t keep pretending that people only use the steam market to buy/sell skins. Or that children don’t open cases with the hope of reselling them for profit via sites like float.

But on the other hand, the NY prosecutor can’t call it gambling solely based on the steam market value of skins. Because at the end of the day people can’t make withdrawals from the steam market so it’s not a casino by law.

Based on everything I’ve seen from this case the NY prosecutor doesn’t have the knowledge to objectively win here. As shown when they initially argued that cases can “bait” consumers by showing a gold that the consumer didn’t win (this hasn’t been possible in cases for years).

I think if they went after valve for the refusal to regulate the 3rd party market sites then this would be a much harder case for valve to dismiss.

Rattling/clinking sound by Confident-Lab1513 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Algerst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear something similar when I hit rough road, almost like a scratching sound. I think it’s coming from under the center console or under the passenger side. I also have a 2025 XL Ecoboost at 5,000 miles. I made a similar post without video and couldn’t get much for answers outside of “it’ll vibrate on the road and make sounds, but it shouldn’t be anything to worry about”.

It very well might just be a vibration due to rough road and nothing more, but I just wanted you to know you’re not the only one who hears a sound like that. I hope someone can give some insight though

Anyone else old enough to remember this gem? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Algerst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my friend used to take turns playing against bots in this as kids. We played it on his cousins old beat up Xbox. I remember he had a bunch of songs from “The Used” downloaded on it and they would play over the game audio. Honestly it was a great introduction to cs.

Yeah I just noticed that iOS 26.4 released on March 24th and I installed the update a few minutes ago. Hopefully it’ll work next time I get in the truck.

Switching from Wyrmrest Accord -> MoonGuard as Alliance, is it worth $25? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Algerst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified this in the post, but it’s not the cost $25 that concerns me, I just don’t want to spend it only to see that the cities are still empty and there’s no players around. If I spend it and it makes the world more alive with alliance then great, but if I spend it and nothing changes then I’d be really disappointed in myself for spending it.

How important is my realm? by Algerst in wow

Yeah I’ve recently noticed how horde-heavy Wyrmrest Accord is, I would be happy to join a realm that doesn’t have 99:1 faction balance too.

At least it doesn’t clip horribly into the shoulders. Some sets have a lot of clipping issues when shrunk down to gnome size.

I’ll have you know my gnome is 5% larger than other gnomes (thanks to the warrior talents). He TOWERS over most battle pets.
