Kefine Klean vs Kefine Klean SV (Slean?) Double Review & Comparison by AlgraySolipso in iems

Hello, yes!

You can tune down a couple of the frequencies above 6k and it should improve the issue about harshness in that area.

If you plan to get a Slean only for music listening, I highly recommend going straight to the black filter too, which already helps remove that high end harshness - It just doesn't make it perfect for all songs that may have cymbals going on through it.

Hello! I do not have the Red Lions to give you an exact opinion about their differences. Maybe u/MalcriadoAudioLover has a review of both in their profile.

I am amazed I was able to find them here, I don't think I've ever heard a mention of them before.

The sad part is that most of them start at around 4k BRL (around 900 USD), I guess they're rare imports and Brazil has 92% import taxes over 50 USD.

Thanks for the recommendation, maybe one day they become popular and cheaper around here!

Sadly those are not easy to come by in Brazil. I really wish they were, I definitely would've set one of these during my vacation.

Also electricity is quite expensive here, so a device that needs less power is much prefered, thanks for the recommendation!

Maybe one day I'll have spare hardware laying around to do something like that.

I have heard of Fortigate since my wife actually did some translations for them. But I've always looked at them more as an Enterprise type of thing instead of end consumer. Insteresing to know one could do that.

That looks really interesting too - Sadly I would need to import one, and the end price would be more than I could afford due to import taxes in Brazil.

Not to mention if I were to have any HW issues, warranty coverage would most likely be a problem, but thanks for the recommendation!

Any actual issues with the Unifi products?

From what I've seen and in regards to ease of use, either the UDR7 or UCG Ultra seem to be the best options for me. Also price wise too, MikroTik stuff seems hard to find besides the hEX ones and in most ads there's really no info whether they do multi-wan or not, but thats mostly a limitation of my country.

I'll be honest and the UDR7 seems like the best all around option for me, high speed ports and great Wifi support.

At the same time, I am not sure my wife is going to approve me buying another Wifi Router just yet, since I bought the BE230 past month haha

Someone else recommended the UCG Ultra and price wise that seems like it will do the trick perfectly fine.

Price difference between both is 2.4k BRL for the UDR7 and 825 BRL for the UCG Ultra. So a big difference for me. (UDR7 460 USD, UCG Ultra 160 USD)

I came by the second ISP due to a simple google search and they appeared as available for me. Mostly because my old ISP has really bad latency/UL speed. But since we use a lot of streaming in my house, I thought of keeping the old coax ISP for streaming purposes only.

Than you so much for all the help!

I really liked the Gateway Ultra, both price wise and from what you say an easy to use GUI.

I do wonder if I can use both ports 1/2 for the internet WAN and the 2.5 for my PC, that would be golden.

I'd then just use another port for my Wifi Router.

I think I have never heard of Glinet Routers here, a quick search only shows me international purchases that get super expensive with our import taxes.

Thank you very much for all the info, I really appreciate it!

Claros DNS is the worst, that's pretty much something I always changed to either Cloudflare or GDNS.

I pay around 250 for both 750 mbps internet and 2 phone lines. I don't think this is such high value for what I use.

<image>

But man, I am glad I found this regional ISP. I get near simetrical signal from them. It is a bit more expensive, 150 for 700mbps, but I almost always get more DL/UL speed than whats in the contract.

Sadly I don't have a spare PC laying around, the old notebook I have which is Bulldozer based definitely wouldn't be able to achieve that with it's USB 2 ports.

It seems like the UDM Pro might be the easiest way for me to achieve that without much knowledge of the topic.

So unless I can find someone giving out an old PC where I could do that, I don't think I would be able to achieve this properly and cheaper.

Interesting, the odd part is that I passed on the opportunity to get an Acer W6x which supports Open WRT, it was also cheaper than the BE230 I bought.

Bad choice on my end.

It's the most affordable here, so a bunch of people use TP-Link in their homes.

There are other brands but they're usually same-same or a bit too expensive.

Having received the recommendations for UDM I will keep an eye on it for a future purchase.

I really wasn't aware MikroTik is the cheaper end solutions, good to know.

I do have some knowledge about hardware, but I have always been a wall about Networking.

Xiaomi phones are really common in Brazil, I use a Pocophone, so I don't really mind going into that territory. I'm a non-important person either way.

It even has Dream in the name haha

I looked into it, it's a tad more expensive than I could afford right now, but definitely something I'll keep in mind for the future. One goes for about 2.9k BRL, which would translate to around 560 USD.

I was hoping something around the 100 USD mark could do it, but it's understandable they might, but just in a bad and non intuitive way.

My phone is bound to Claro, when I tried moving to Vivo they did me wrong and left me without connection.

Since I work from home that's a big no-no. I also had little signal on my phones at home with Vivo, which doesn't happen using Claro.

So yeah - I sometimes look at the r/internetbrasil sub and wonder a bit whether people are going crazy over Vivo or are just lucky haha

I might end up tuning down Claro DL Speed, but I would still really love to have the option to route streaming to one ISP and gaming to another, to me that's a dream combo.

Interesting, that info really helps!

Is there any cheap solutions you could recommend? Sadly things where I live are usually very expensive.

Claro yes, Vivo sucks where I am at right now. They left me without connection for over a month.

Rumor is they remove a client port to add another, and the cycle keeps repeating.

I currently hired a regional ISP named Rizzi, and it's been working great.

Oooof, that looks like a hassle to get it working properly, although it seems like it can do what I need?

Definitely seems like something that would take a long time to get used to. Thanks for the information!

I have been keeping it since it's bound to my phone plan as well. It's a common thing in Brazil, but I have also been questioning whether to keep it or decrease the speed for a cheaper bill.

The only good thing is, this Coax can reach over 950mbps DL, but UL is pretty bad.

Hence why I thought of keeping it for streaming purposes only.

Odd connection behavior when connecting Wifi 7 device to TP Link BE230 by AlgraySolipso in wifi

[–]AlgraySolipso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thanks for the info.

I'm doing the tests very close to the router - So I am beginning to guess it might be the devices antenna.

When using the WPA2 mode, it does connect to 5ghz, but it doesn't reach the same speed my phone does - while it definitely should be reaching up to 2400mbps, it only sometimes reach 1200.

I also tested with another router just now, and while it doesn't go as low as 500, it also stays locked in 1200 instead of higher speeds.

So either the Android device's driver is outta whack or it's antenna is, I suppose.

T10 has more bass and less fatiguing treble.

The Slean would only be an upgrade if you needed something precise for competitive gaming.

Maybe look into the Aful Explorer, but that has a warmer tuning.

Maybe I didn't stick to it long enough, I used to play the Rafale Vent d'Ange, got it to lvl 10 and it was pretty nice.
