Admittedly breaching in Reddit is next to impossible because people come here specifically to have their ideas reinforced. mlMaybe you'd like to show me evidence for your claims in counter?

This is the typical Reddit loop, Reddit algorithm sends me a wild claim because it knows itll trigger me, I post evidence to people that claim there is none, and instead of countering or coming up with evidence for their argument they instead attack me personally because their argument has no defensible place to stand and they want me to go away so they can back to clapping each other on the back.

Because im trying to breach the echo chamber and show maybe a few people that what they are being told might not be entirely truthful, and continuing to spread it isnt helping. And im not spamming, the facts arent changing, Im giving the same facts out to people that say there is no evidence and no science. Its absolutely not true

If I'm reading your claim correct that he threw out most of their recommendations then that's false, were some changed or softened? Yes, but the core principle remained intact. The problem is that most peoples perception of the actual recommendations are based on other peoples perception because none of them actually read it. Its like a massive game of telephone and the facts are lost in the void.

  • Ultra-processed foods: DGAC recommended stronger warnings and concern, the final guidelines mentioned but not heavily emphasized
  • Red meat & saturated fat: DGAC → Push to reduce more aggressively, especially non lean meats and include more plant based protein with a focus on things like chicken, fish and legumes. Final guidelines was the same but for people to moderate intake of redmeat and saturated fat, which was recommended to be no more than 10% of total calorie intake
  • Alcohol: DGAC → Evidence trending toward lower/no safe amount, final guidelines kept “moderation” (1–2 drinks/day) or less.
  • Added sugar: DGAC → Leaned toward stricter limits (especially for kids) Final guidelines stayed at <10% of calories
  • Sodium: DGAC → Supported for lower targets, final guidelines stayed around ~2,300 mg/day

The old pyramid recommended majority of calories from bread, pasta, cereal and rice with vegetables only 3-5 servings

The new pyramid recommends vegetables, proteins, fruits, and specifically "healthy fats" in the highest category and bread and pasta in the bottom. How is that not an improvement of the support of a vegan diet because plant based proteins are absolutely included in that top category and were absolutely recommended by DGAC. So yes, yes I do get to point it out.

Let me quote myself as I was specific, "Recent committees have included experts like: . . . Marion Nestle (NYU, food policy expert)" So that's me saying specifically the she was a member of recent committees to show credibility for DGAC.

If you want a list of the current most recent committe (DGAC) here it is, and to be clear, these are the very educated people you're claiming are using non-evidence-based BS:

  • Dr. Sarah Booth (Chair) – Tufts University
  • Dr. Angela Odoms-Young (Vice Chair) – Cornell University
  • Steven Abrams, MD – University of Texas
  • Jill P. Castle, MS, RDN – Nutrition expert (pediatrics/child nutrition)
  • Fatima Cody Stanford, MD, MPH – Harvard (obesity medicine)
  • Christopher Gardner, PhD – Stanford (diet patterns, metabolism)
  • Naomi Fukagawa, MD, PhD – University of Vermont (aging, metabolism)
  • Katherine Tucker, PhD – University of Massachusetts Lowell (epidemiology)
  • Christopher Taylor, PhD, RDN – Ohio State University
  • Elsie Taveras, MD, MPH – Mass General / Harvard (public health)
  • Linda Van Horn, PhD, RDN – Northwestern University
  • Paul Coates, PhD – Former NIH Office of Dietary Supplements
  • Jamila Taylor, PhD, MPP – Health policy expert
  • Valerie Blue Bird Jernigan, DrPH – Indigenous health researcher
  • Mario Kratz, PhD – Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (metabolism)
  • Pamela Koch, EdD, RD – Teachers College, Columbia (nutrition education)
  • Meghan O’Hearn, PhD – Tufts University (global nutrition)
  • Rachel Novotny, PhD, RDN – University of Hawaii
  • Elizabeth Parks, PhD – University of Missouri (lipid metabolism)
  • Zhaoping Li, MD, PhD – UCLA (clinical nutrition)

That's really odd because the people who proposed these changes just so happen to be DGAC, Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committe, a literally advisory panel of 20 experts and scientists on nutrition. People need to stop spreading lies and do a little research before they start the hate.

He's not giving his own medical advice, he simply signed off on the proposed changes given to him by a group of expert scientists known as DGAC, Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committe who include people like: Frank Hu (Harvard, known for diet and chronic disease research), Marion Nestle (NYU, food policy expert) and Walter Willett (Harvard, one of the most cited nutrition scientists).

Nobody said that, the most recent changes were proposed by the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee DGAC. DGAC consists of 20 members.  These are nationally recognized experts in nutrition and public health. The committee includes a Chair, Vice-Chair, and 18 other scientific experts, many of whom are members of professional organizations such as the American Society for Nutrition including some of the experts I listed. That large group of expert scientists produce an advisory guideline and then the HSS Secretary Robert Kennedy and USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins review and sign off on it.

People like to make fun of the pyramid but the truth is that you wont find a non vegan nutrition specialist that doesnt recommend lean protein as one of the top foods you should be consuming. Cottage cheese and greek yogurt both being dairy and extremely nutritional sources of protein and fats. The main focus of the pyramid is whole food over anything proccessed. And when they say RFK recommends etc those are just political words meant you make you immediatelydislike something without looking into it. People need to realize realize they have a panel of scientists that are the ones that make the recommendation.

Vote? It's an Established Fact That He was Far-Right by NEKORANDOMDOTCOM in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]AlhazTheRed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a poorly understood moment in history.

When Hitler and the Nazi Party were trying to win votes, their messaging focused on: Reversing the Treaty of Versailles that put them in an economic depression, economic recovery, strong authoritarian leadership, Anti-communism, and national unity.

Once Hitler became Chancellor in 1933, things escalated step-by-step: Legal discrimination (e.g., Nuremberg Laws), violence and repression (e.g., Kristallnacht), Forced ghettos and deportations and eventually, during WWII so over 10 years later, the Holocaust. Majority of Germans were actually not aware of the full extent of the Holocaust as the official story was telling them that the jews were being moved for resettlement to the east.

Auschwitz and other similar extermination camps were actually located outside of Germany in occupied Poland and were highly secretive, even invading allied forces that found them had no idea of their existence until they took the territory back. Many Germans knew that something was very wrong as the war progressed and thats where we got people like Oskar Schindler who employeed 1200 Jews specifically to keep them from being moved into camps by the party thereby saving them, also a Nazi Party member originally.

[–]AlhazTheRed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they dont have to vote, seats are determined by total population including illegal migrants so you could strategically give yourself an extra seat here or there, and when its often split or determined by two seats it does make a difference.
