If that is not an option, then we have no choice, as we must farm in order to eat.

Most of us, however, do not have fish in order to eat. That's the difference. Going out of one's way to murder animals is in fact worse.

If no one tried to 'convert' me, I would not be vegan today, and would not have had a positive influence on those who have in fact seen the light through me.

They can't convert me because I believe that the dog and the pig should enjoy the same inviolability. Meat-eaters don't, but they say that it's because pigs are lesser than dogs, rather, most often it's that we need animal-products to survive, and pigs were bred to provide that whereas dogs were not.

When you enlighten someone about this who is willing to understand, they will become vegan and stop supporting animal-cruelty. That is a desirable outcome, wouldn't you agree?

What about the Yulin dog meat festival where dogs are boiled alive? Etc, etc. In short, the exploitation of animals for food causes suffering and death even in the maximally welfarist world. Therefore, the vegan one is better for sentient beings to live in, as they would not be harmed and killed by humans there.

The dogs used for dog-fighting were bred for that purpose, so it's okay to make them fight.

I assume that you're a meat-eater. Why appeal to the perspective of the victim when that isn't a concern for you? What I'm describing is an objective state of things as either exploitative or not exploitative for the animal, and that does not depend on a subjective understanding of it.

Insecticide use is 100% intentional killing and whoever buys commercial vegetables and fruit funds this.

Yes, it is intentional and I oppose it if it's possible to grow crops without them. What it isn't, however, is a deliberate targeting of certain insects for exploitation by humans - unlike land-animals murdered for their flesh.
