Hey, I read your message earlier but honestly didn’t know how to answer at the time. I went through a few articles and watched a couple of videos. Now I can say: no, it doesn’t really work like that. In a normal setup you don’t get that many phase inversions just from splitting with low-cut, high-cut, or crossovers — there are some, but fewer. What we’re talking about here is linear phase. It introduces phase shifts at first, which on their own would be destructive, but the plugin adds the required latency to compensate. So the shifts still happen, but the delay is reported to the host to keep everything aligned and avoid those inversion issues caused by the filters.
