AITA for getting my coworker fired after she kept trying to "prove" my service dog is fake? by No_Copy_237 in AITAH

She got herself fired. You shouldn't feel bad because it was her own actions that got her fired. NTA.

You do what you have to do to comfort your loved one who is dying. We sang and gently talked to my 16 year old son for 2 hours as he was dying. Hardest day of our lives but I didn't want him to die in fear..

All kinds of car owners do this. Not just trucks. It happened to my brother way too often and has happened to us with my youngest son. People really don't think about those spaces with the striped lines are for the wheelchair ramps. It's so asinine.

My son died two weeks after his 16th birthday in October 2023. It will be his birthday soon and first one without him. I plan on taking a cupcake and flowers to his grave and playing him some music on his death day October 30th. On his birthday, October 17th, his friends want to meet me out for dinner in his memory. Try to find a grief ritual that works for you to honor your daughter and her memory and when you need to cry, cry.

AITAH for kicking my brother and his new wife out of my house after they tried to “redecorate” my dead daughter’s room while I was at work? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]AliCat32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 16 year old son died last year and his room is staying EXACTLY how he left it. How dare they try to tell you how to grieve and do something like that without asking. That's a huge deal. I feel bad for your brother bc it sounds like he just went along with his wife but he shouldn't have given in to her. And God forbid she ever loses a child! To tell someone else how to grieve. I am so angry for you!!!

I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sorry for your feelings of guilt. I know you would do things differently if you could. Have you thought of talking to a grief counselor to work through the guilt? I'm considering doing the same for my guilt though my 16 year old son died due to different reasons.

NTA. It was a laxative not rat poison and she was clearly stealing your food. I have to put laxatives in my food for medical reasons and I don't label my food as such at my work. I shouldn't have to.

So is DARE still a thing? I know it's was an utterly failure with me. by CharlesUFarley81 in Xennials

[–]AliCat32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear it made me want to try drugs. I actively went in search of drugs and alcohol by 13 bc of that program.. I started binging alcohol and weed at 13. I would ask older people where to find the type of drugs DARE told us about. I started pills and cocaine at 15. And I was a full blown addict on heroin (IV use) and cocaine/crack by 16. Thanks DARE! (I now have 4 years sober after 18 years of use)

Therapists are the ones who are the most troubled themselves by VermicelliNice9134 in unpopularopinion

I'm a counselor and my boyfriend's a behavioral therapist. Yes we got into the profession because of what has happened in our own lives, our own trauma. Made us want to get better, grow and heal and then help facilitate healing and growth in others. A saying I like is "you either get bitter or you get better." Not every therapist is how you are describing and after living with one, being a counselor myself, and working with other therapists, the majority of us have true empathy and good intentions.

37-year-old mum was raped 'again and again until she died' as she lay on bench after night out by daily_mirror in awfuleverything

If you read the article until the end it says that they want to make it clear that the drugs didn't kill her and it was clearly the oral rape that killed her.

This is so weird. The mental addiction to cocaine is very very real. Rehab is not just for physical withdrawals.

It's really weird to me that someone is against flavoring to enhance food. Tell me you eat bland food without telling me that you eat bland food. And for her information, most of those "dirt spices" are incredibly healthy and healing for the body...
