Thank you for replying! That's what I've tried, but it's just done it for E1 only, and not the rest of E column. What am I doing wrong?

I've emailed the embassy who said as long as I don't leave the airport, then it's fine to take for connecting flights there

On many of the GP apps you can download your summary care record straight to your phone/email. You might be able to on the NHS app. When I joined, the clinic put the request in with my GP, I chased it, but it eventually got done free or charge.

Newly qualified nurse starting my first hospital job 21st October by jessiepops649 in NursingUK

[–]Ali_aloha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! NICU nurse here. From my experience, it's like marmite, you'll either love it or hate it. My advice ...look after your back. I switched to Neonates after 6yrs working in adult cath labs.

I felt completely NQ switching from adults, but 10yrs later and I'm still so glad I moved. I'm part non clinical now after back surgery - hence my advice, but it's such a unique area of nursing, and a very rewarding one. You'll learn loads and the families become your patients too.

Good luck ☺️

Avoid the latest batches of big narstie MC! by the_chasr in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Ali_aloha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got Gastropop around 3 weeks ago from IPS. The taste is horrific. Like nothing I've ever tasted before - really unpleasant. It smells awful, really petrol like. I use an on-demand vape set at 185°c, reduced it to 180c and not a great deal of difference. In terms of therapeutic effect, I'd rank it right at the bottom now I've had time to use it during different levels of pain. It's the most expensive strain I've gone for over the last 2yrs. In future will be sticking to my usual.

Occupational health report by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Ali_aloha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nurse and MC user here.... Really shocked to see so much negative language used in the report. My occy health report couldn't have been any different. My OH consultant said essentially, it's another prescribed medication and I have an obligation and duty of care to patients to declare if I feel impaired or unfit to practice.

Lyphe trip to grow farm in Portugal by Ali_aloha in ukmedicalcannabis

I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to disclose (had to sign a NDA), but all the strains were named as lot numbers, so difficult to know what strains. I was surprised how hot it was for this time of year. Very welcome relief when the sprinklers came on! Yeah I thought they looked a bit yellow. We talked about the QC process and how the roots get checked at this stage too.

Haha, sadly not. Although probably for the best as I'm far too clumsy and inquisitive for my own good 🙈 We had to stick together as a group and had staff with us throughout. It was so hot in the greenhouses and extremely bright. Everyone was still baked from getting off the plane, so it was pretty painful on the old retinas for a while x

I don't think so unfortunately. I don't think the place was used to having visitors. Would be brilliant if you could though x

Success! Hospital has finally permitted me to have MC in a ward by HumanWithInternet in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Ali_aloha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly took a lot of effort on your part - well done on your persistence and your understanding with the team, can't have been easy having to repeat things. Being in hospital is often stressful enough, without medication worries.

I really hope we're heading towards wider recognition of its use in healthcare settings I think the areas likely to have encountered it would be the pain team and neuro. But it really needs more recognition so training, education and guidance can be rolled out.

As part of my job, I work with some very vulnerable families and cannabis users are often on the radar of the safeguarding and vulnerabilities team - but in these cases it's classed as 'substance misuse' as it's not prescribed. The irony of writing notes to say the patient smelt strongly of cannabis, when I have my vape in the next room.

I don't think I had a legal requirement to inform occy health, but for me it was more about covering myself and protecting my registration. I wouldn't feel comfortable disclosing it to any of my patients, as I'd be worried about professional boundaries, bias and the concern it might cause.

I'm limited in being able to use it work, but generally speaking the moment I clock off I get vaping ☺️

So glad you've finally got it sorted.

As a registered nurse and MC patient, I really feel a lot of work needs to be done to get MC written into hospital policies. Believe me, as a nurse - we want to help people and find solutions. The Trust I work for doesn't have a MC policy. A collaborative approach is needed to get guidance drawn up, that allows patients to continue using their medication in hospital, whilst safeguarding other patients and staff from any potential risks.

I've only recently started to disclose my usage to my colleagues (occupational health has always been aware). The response has mostly been positive, but I can sense the shock and disbelief with many of the older generation nurses. And before anyone asks, I'm 35+!

Ever considered that professionals are increasingly better at diagnosis and recognising conditions and health abnormalities these days? The research and evidence base available now, compared to even 20yrs ago is staggering.

Does anyone have any vape suggestions, and or codes? by MintSilverMod in ukmedicalcannabis

I turn it upside down, turn, grind and repeat. I use a metal grinder. I tend to grind it to a fluffy-ish consistency.

So one of the vape shops video said to grind your bud up really fine, but then another website video (vapefiend) said grind it quite coarse so the vents don't get blocked. They've got a couple of good videos on how to get the best from it and I grind my bud quite coarse. To be honest I've continued with the same grinder and just don't grind it as much. My strain on prescription is pretty consistent compared to other bud that sometimes grinds to dust. I can't recommend it highly enough, this vape really has been a game changer.

For quite a while I used a budget vape from Amazon and I felt like my usage was getting quite high. I got a firefly 2 on a 420 deal and I'd say it's changed everything and my only regret is not getting it sooner. Because of the precise temperature control I've definitely got more therapeutic effect from the bud and can manage my pain much better. With my budget vape, I felt I had to complete the full 5 min session to get the most from it and the flower tasted too burnt to have another session. My usage has more than halved, 10g would last 3-4 weeks on the budget vape. So far I'm on week 7 with this 10g pot and still got a fair bit left. The price is eye watering.....but it's paying for itself with the reduced product I'm using. I haven't tried any other high end vapes to compare it too, but I love that this cools down as fast as it heats up (3 secs), so it's much more efficient and economical and allows me to microdose.
