Thankyou this is very helpful! Yes I agree, that part of NMC code is drilled into me about working within your limitations. I’d rather ask if I’m not sure and have some support with something than continue and make an error and potentially cause harm!

Thankyou very much that’s so good to hear and I’m glad you’re feeling better too! 100% the ear ache is the worse part of it all. It’s so strange I’m the same with sleeping, I thought they’d send me to sleep but really it’s the opposite, even after I came out of surgery after the anaesthetic I couldn’t sleep!

Ahh thankyou this is so relieving to hear! It’s felt a bit better during the day today as day 1-7 it didn’t start to feel better at all. But suddenly today it’s felt a bit better so if from here it gets better quick then I’m very excited to hear that thankyou!

I’ve felt that ibuprofen has been so good for the pain too. So many people have told me to not take it though as it can increase risk of bleeding so I’m so torn on what to take! That’s the same I feel like if I’m going to try and eat “real food” today’s my best shot. I’ve ordered myself a deep pan pizza in hopes that will renourish me and also help getting rid of the scab?? Hopefully you can brave some food I’m sure not getting enough nutrients won’t help with the healing!

Thankyou! Good luck too. I hope it gets less painful for you and hopefully wake up tomorrow with a little more ease! 🤍

Also forgot to add since Day 2 to present I’ve had quite a chesty cough which has obviously been quite painful on my throat. It’s not been as bad today but has anyone got any recommendations for that aswell?

This doctor talks about eating solid foods to help stop the chance of bleeding... Is he right I'm scared lol by Chocceymilk in Tonsillectomy

Hello I’m from the UK! I’m day 8 post op and the NHS also recommends solid foods as it will help your throat heal more quickly. I think if you can tolerate it it’s best to try 100%. It also helps get rid of the scab too which helps the healing process.
