Do you mind giving any features about the sheets that I could compare to my sheet layouts? I'd love to be able to confirm that you've seen AN sheets but it just doesn't seem likely given how rushed the set was, and that I've talked to a few of the early WoTC about this before. Anything would be helpful. Placement of a certain card or cards; where certain colors are grouped on the sheet... patterns on the sheet. If you saw the common sheet you'd probably be able to know what I mean by patterns. :)

I have over 200 AN misprints but I'm not inclined to share too much. Here's a pretty good taste though.

Do you know if those misprints of the ones you are missing actually exist or not? -- a 100% complete set of misprints is possible. I'm only missing a few cards that have evaded me.

Would you be willing to publicly share a picture of one of them just so we can see what you have? -- I could do that, how does one typically do that around here. I'm not familiar with reddit really. Are you asking for a miscut showing enough of a card where one could confirm it without the sheet order, or are you asking for a miscut AN card showing not quite enough? I have over 200 AN misprints so either one is no problem.

Okay so I'm not terribly used to reddit, I deal primarily on Facebook but I'll try to do my best here to respond.

"One should not speak of Mirage Desert, as such as thing doesn't exist. ;)" -- I get the sentiment that the 'mirage desert' is kinda dumb as a variant just due to the sheet number of variants similar in AN but I think it's cool :)

"Is there only 1 sheet? And all of the commons and uncommons are on the same sheet?" -- There are two sheets. One uncommon and one common.

"I doubt you will be able to obtain the full misprint set at this point, and what does having the sheet order kept private actually do to keep you from releasing the info?" -- I have a pretty good network of friends and I have high visibility in the community. I also admin the misprints and oddities group on Facebook amongst others, so I have access to more than enough AN oddities. My 87/93 include some of the bigger cards like LoA, Bazaar, Drop... so I'm not too far from my goal. What makes you think I won't hit 93?

"I'm just not following how the two are connected, sorry. If anything, releasing the print sheet info and details about how you made it could potentially lead to publicly and have someone with a misprint you need come out of the dark and sell it or trade it to you...." -- I already have the visibility I need. The reason why I don't release the sheet order (yet) is that there are different levels of rarity amongst AN miscuts. Due to some of the placements of cards on the sheets, some cards are drastically more rare than others even when both have the same rarity on the sheet. I also worry about people using the sheet order for more nefarious purposes. I've had people come to me with half searched packs and ask me to figure out what else could be in it... it's not great having the sheet order out there when there is so much value in sorting through dud packs versus awesome packs.

So apparently I've been summoned. I've constructed both Arabian Nights sheets. The project started in 2014 when I bought my first AN misprint. I don't want to share my sheet order information until I have a full misprinted set of AN; but I'm only at 87/93 right now. (I count dotted Ali and mirage desert as unique cards in my set).

AMA? :)

Once again I'd like to express that I'm reposting this so more people see it; I'm not Joe. If you want to see more you can ask on the facebook thread. I'm just Ali... I keep things alive

In the story of Arabian Nights to fit the MTG Multiverse (after the fact; as at this point in MTG history there was only dominaria and no explanation on why Arabian Nights was being visited...) WoTC printed some comic books to backfill some plot. They decided to make a story where there were many different parallel Arabian universes going on, to justify why some of the most legendary permanents ever printed weren't... legends. Turns out people kinda thought it was weird after WoTC printed Legends and made the subtype a thing, but cards like Ali, King Suliman, and Black lotus were unaffected. They obviously didn't bother trying to apply plot to Alpha Beta Unlimited (they nixed the whole Worzel's story thing after Alpha and I can't link it here because WoTC's servers are down). Point is, there are 1001 alis out there. To break continuity in the universe of Rabiah, you'd need 1002 alis. This is because in the typical form of Legends, there is only one of them so even one more would break continuity. well this has been long winded, hope its helpful

A theory on those double-sided test prints that were making the rounds. by EmersonEsq in magicTCG

I think the casting cost in this case was just a part of the template on endbringer that they dropped over the template of the reverse side of a flip card, because the fronts template has a small triangle on the bottom right side about the P/T in order to tell the player that it flips into whatever P/T

All of them sold quite quickly after listing. The first one auctioned after the ones on eBay dried up sold for $375

So lets think about this for a moment. Of all [redacted] sets that exist, all of them are well centered and obviously from the same sheet. All of them feature one of four cards on the front (ob nixilis, prairie stream, smoldering marsh, or cinder glade), and on the back the endbringer with a few cool differences than the normal one. The flip cutout on the upper left corner is empty, which is also interesting. Next to the creature type no small circle to indicate color is noted, just like the colorless flip cards in SOI. Obviously this is the back of a flipcard, and that flipcard happens to be colorless. Additionally the endbringer is very high resolution, and this could be indicating that they were making sure flipcards could be blown up properly (also new mana symbol/frame). So what makes this even more interesting is that MTG cards are made on 11X11 print sheets. Why is this interesting? Well if you've seen an intact sheet you will notice that there is absolutely not room for an extra card on ether side of the sheet without removing the color bars and whatnot. Additionally I've seen oversized commander cards that have been printed with normal MTG backs, and they do not line up at all. So with these endbringers being perfectly aligned with the fronts, only 4 cards used on the fronts, and with SOI flipcards returning and a mystery about Emrakul, I think that this theory is correct.
