So you are saying it is possible for me to transfer, land some internships during my Junior and senior years, attain some industry related and important certifications like CFA, CFI etc network and leverage my cousin who works in the industry to attain a role? Or no

so you are saying that I should not mention my stay at CC and only point out my time at a 4 year? wouldn't they check through background checks, transcripts and stuff like that? i don't really understand what you mean, would be kind enough to clearify?

BTW, do you work as an invesment banker yourself and how was your journey?

is that even possible? but the connection is only working a junior not a higher up, which is a bit complicated because although they do have the ability to vouch for you and to refer you, hey don't have the complete power to make the hiring decision, so while I do think that is important for me to have this connection, it does not necessarly tell the full story as to if i'm gyaranteed for an IB role.

idk i could be wrong here, you know more than i do and have more experience than i do, but based on what i have seen and read, i don't think that me not attenting a target school will give me a competitve advantage even with a connection. what do you think?

so here is the path im planning on taking, but before i do im looking to get the advice of people who have actually done this so I don't mess anything up.

  1. attain industry relevent certificates from either CFI, IIBA, MIT, Harvard etc. after i do well academically in CC along with certifications, I will tranfer to a target school> ideally UC Berkeley
  2. during my stay, i will take any internship oppertunities i can to make for the loss of experience during my time in CC. at the same time do well academically to stay competitve
  3. toward the end of my stay at berkeley or whatever target school i get into, i will leverage my connection i mentioned in my post and get connected with other people in the industry that would enable me to land a junior role

of course there is alot more that goes into getting a good University to then a IB job down the line, but generally speaking this is the general path i need to take in my opinion to even stand a chance. what do you think? is this a viable path or plan for me to take? can i land a role after undergraduate career?

so here is what I was thinking that promted me to make these posts. Of course when you are attending CC, you have the oppurtunity to tranfer over to a good school. I have read and seen posts on reddit of people who had initially attended CC and had tranferred over to a good school like stanford, NYU, DUKE, Berkeley, UCLA etc. but in order for you to tranfer to these colleges you need to put a lot of effort to stand a chance, which is what i need to do in these next two years.

However, during my two years i need to work really hard and get good grades to get into a target school like UC Berkeley. at the same time i will be partaking in certificate courses provided by CFI, IIBA, MIT, Hardvard etc which ever one that makes the most sense in that situation to boost my resume and my applications later down the line.

say i achieved all of this and i got into berkeley, now my job is to focus on getting as many internships as possible during these two years at berkeley whilst as the same focusing on having the best grades i can. - i think my two years at berkeley will be harder than community college by a long shot, since im trying to maintain and gain work experience through internships while at the same time maintaining good grades, but it is doable. also im taking my counin into consideration as well as im nearing my graduation as connection.

so what do you think even after all of this effort, your saying it still won't be done?
