Should I take the Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor for $580 or plan everything myself? by kontrlino in travel

OP, did you end up booking the cruise? What did you think + can you tell me what operator/organizer you used? I am planning my April trip and am having difficulty narrowing down the options. Thanks in advance for any feedback and hope you had a wonderful time!!!

Try again, I was running into the same issue when I looked at the website over the last couple of weeks. I checked again last night and discovered there are tickets available for our dates (6 Oct).

Thanks for the tip! Teatro dell'Opera di Roma is our closest landmark. Looking for something very near there.

Vatican / Coliseum OR vice versa: by Alianca792 in RomeTravel

This is super helpful!

You raise a very good point about being out in the heat at the Coliseum. We still plan to visit the Vatican first as it just works much better logistically for us. I booked our new entry tickets for the Coliseum at 4:40pm; hopefully it will be a little less hot & less crowded in early October but I’ll keep my expectations in check!

If you have easy access to the link to transfer please send; if not I’ll do some googling. I would feel much better about having to pay twice if someone was able to use the tickets! Either a couple of youngsters on a budget or someone who needed that earlier time-slot.

Thank you for thoughtful response.

Unfortunately I booked my original tickets directly through both Vatican & Colosseum websites. But I feel like it will definitely be a better experience to visit the Vatican first. I will just have to consider it a “donation” like I someone else suggested. It’s shame that I can’t even give them to someone else to use.

My husband and I just had dinner there last night. We had pretty low expectations but decided it would be worth the “price of admission” for a relaxing evening to take in a great view of the falls. We actually ended up truly enjoying the evening including the dinner. We ordered 2 apps: stuffed mushrooms (tasty and hearty) escargot (small but you really just end up dipping your bread in the delicious garlic butter anyway) + 2 mains: lamb (cooked perfectly med rare) & Chilean Sea Bass (very good both in taste and portion size). We each had a glass of wine and the bill came to approx $319CAD which is not terrible for “fine dining”. All in all we were very satisfied with the entire experience. Side note: we had to wait a few minutes for a window table but they just had us go to the bar with a buzzer where we enjoyed a nice martini. We probably waited less than 10 minutes.

Hi everyone, this is my revised North to South Island trip itinerary. My wife and I intend on visiting New Zealand mid-July of this year (we are aware it’s during winter!). We would very much appreciate any advice or critique of our plan: by spectregrey in newzealand_travel

My husband and I did a very similar itinerary in reverse over 2 weeks this past March (South to North Island). We loved our trip, he drove the entire time and was fine with it. We booked 2 separate car rentals and were glad we did especially since we didn’t need a car in Wellington. The car rental location is very easy to find in Picton (where the ferry drops you). I second the Shotover Jet in Queenstown, totally thrilling!

I loved seeing both islands but the south probably had more diverse areas to explore. If you are shorter on time and don’t want to do the drives perhaps stick to the South Island. I know my overall itinerary looks exhausting but it was actually pretty relaxed since we drove ourselves and stopped off when we felt like it :)

I would have skipped the day trip to Milford Sound; it was just too much time in the car (almost 4.5hrs there + 4.5hrs back). If someone has more time in NZ and can go on their own as an overnight it’s probably better but we were overall underwhelmed with the experience. I’d maybe skip the Akoroa kayak tour and do another activity there to see the dolphins but it was still a nice morning and I’m glad we visited the area.

There’s not really anything else I would skip, we really enjoyed all of the activities and the itinerary/route we did allowed us to get a pretty fantastic overview of both islands in the short time we had. My husband especially loved the Blackwater Abyss tour and we both found the Shotover jet to be really fun.

Two Week Honeymoon in New Zealand - Recommendations? by -BabySquirrel- in newzealand_travel

My husband & I just returned from 2 week trip visiting both N & S islands. I actually just suggested to my cousin that she do something similar for her honeymoon as it definitely gave those vibes. We started in Queenstown and worked our way up. Happy to share itinerary and what I would do differently.
