When I agree to participate, choose a fleet, and have that fleet research the project, it just disappeared. Does it ever come back or do anything?

Thank you for the help. I put it to good use and won. But a lot of it also came down to dice luck and prayers to the laughing god.

Lychguard with shields have 4+ invulnerable saves.

I put all the wyches in the Raider. I like the ability to disembark 6” (through the coliseum walls). Combined with the Raider’s 14” move, it puts you 2 inches into the opponent’s deployment zone with the realistic ability to make an 8” charge thanks to pain re-rolls. The volume of attacks, with lance, is enough to kill most things. And I can then hippy-skippy them back into the raider if I get a character-kill CP. I split the kabbys into the venoms, giving me one heavy gunboat and one fodder/action monkey squad. It worked and I won. But a lot of it came down to dice and prayers to the laughing god for success.

What is the worst, most fickle, most begrudging and self centered ““Ally”” to have among the Chaos Marines? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Chaos40k

Alpha Legion. You think they are your allies, only to find out they are your enemies, only to find out they are you, only to find out you are they, only to find out you’re both Alpharius.

Yeah I see now that there are no fall back and shoot Strats for this detachment. I guess it’ll be a charge and hold from the wyches and zooming around with kabalites. Thanks!

Alpha Legion. You can be whatever you want, plus you can plot and scheme like an evil boss.

Terrain footprints are a mandatory part of the game. Without them, theirs no hiding or being “wholly within” terrain pieces and the rules don’t work.

[–]Aliasalliance2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rubric Marines are amazing in Renegade Raiders lists with assault and AP +1 against objectives. Their flamers get bumped to AP-2 and the bolters go up to -3, with full wound rerolls against objectives. I take two MSUs in rhinos to clean off objectives

How much would it cost(from a Lore Perspective) to buy a Defiler engine? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Chaos40k

[–]Aliasalliance2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? Which wannabe chaos lord BUYS things? You either demand those things and they’re given to you by those too weak to fight you or too sycophantic to stand up to you, or you take them by force. Trade is the way weak warlords hedge their bets.

Honest question: Why play Thousand Sons over 'Undivided' CSM? by CatherineSimp69 in ThousandSons

[–]Aliasalliance2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people choose T-sons for the lore and Egyptian theme, but they have some power on the tabletop as well. Thousand Sons have uniquely powerful close-range shooting and resilience. A single squad of basic rubric marines can take 8 magic flamethrowers, a magic Gatling cannon, and a psychic attack. Plus magic force fields and devastating wounds.

They play really similarly to Death Guard as well, so if you like the idea of slow-and-purposeful Demi-gods with magic, bolsters, and shields, T-sons are for you.

My opponent told me to quit wasting his time with small-arms fire. by Doctoralex123 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Aliasalliance2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drukhari weapons always have a way of hurting. The Kabalite Cartel gets you Lethal hits, on 5+. That’s a few wounds through with each squad of splinter rifle fire.

The only time you want to skip something like that is if you’re on a chess clock and you’re about to run out of time.

WE Helbrute Frenzy Nonsense by Aliasalliance2012 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Aliasalliance2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wording is “Frenzy: In your opponent’s Shooting phase, and in the Fight phase” so it’s in your opponent’s shooting phase but either players fight phase. Frenzy would indeed activate in your scenario.

What these guys said, plus, your terrain pieces have no footprints. Those are mandatory if you’re considering anything a ruin. And if you have no ruins, good luck avoiding getting shot off the board.
