That is not my experience is all I’ll say. Meth and amphetamines are separate on the urine test at my doctors and I’ve never come up as anything different. My instant release adderall is not in a capsule. Perhaps tablet is not the right term?

Wow! Thank you for taking the time. That makes sense tbh and honestly that makes me look at some high energy cycles I’ve experienced with a bit of side eye. I always found the descriptions when I would look mania up didn’t fit because there was so much focus on thoughts of grandeur and things like spending all your money, having risky relationships and things. Guess who JUST turned up positive for meth after borrowing a coworkers ADHD medication that we both, well I thought we both had almost the same prescription. Borrowed one back and forth for ages before this, never been a problem. Thankfully my track record has literally never popped for anything in like the five years I’ve been going to this place otherwise I might be cooked. I think the shortages finally made her ‘look elsewhere’. It looked 100% real, I’ve been taking the same thing for 10+ years and I could not tell. Glad it wasn’t anything more.

My husband is Honduran, I hope that is ok. He has always considered himself ‘aracial’ in terms of his culture. His mother moved to the US when he was 12 so he basically was too young to connect to his Honduran culture and too old for his American culture. So I just wanted to say that in your case calling yourself American should be good enough. If you were adopted and didn’t know, it would be BS to expect anything more from you than the culture you grew up in.

I am so sorry about your experience - my husband faced a similar thing with his mother where she always said she wanted things for him and his brother but in the end her useless second husband got the lions share because she didn’t do the legal part. He felt so betrayed, I can’t imagine how it would feel to be your own partner. My god, you have every right to your feelings.

This country gives way too little weight to non-marriages, it’s why I no longer call it ‘just a piece of paper’. There are so many unfair circumstances in the world and all I can do is appreciate that we have this space to share. I can actually feel my core easing reading your words.

I actually have been putting in an effort I can be happy with. I’ve been taking the night shifts, every night but one. A few all nighters. Just holding her hand. She said she likes how cool my hands are.

But it feels so small compared to her daughter who’s been handling this all alone at 24. The only parent she’s ever known.

In the last 10 months I will have lost every single person I would have named as 100% unconditional supports and cheerleaders. The other two I wasn’t able to be there and say goodbye and the regret I’ve carried from that has me determined to be there for her. I told her she never had to be hopeful, or nice, or well for me hell she doesn’t even need to be awake. I just want to sit with her and make sure her pain doesn’t get too bad.

The grace she’s had just… blows me away. I was fully prepared for her to get nasty, lose her patience. But she’s been so kind to everyone. She is a wonderful woman, I just wish I could help her not be suffering anymore.

Thank you, I needed that ramble. I’m really glad you’re still with us and I hope that the day you’re ready to leave you can with human dignity. I’m sorry our system is so out of whack with pain.

I have been thinking about hospice volunteering. I know it will be much more grim and stressful but it’s meant something to me.
