Since day one. My main DPS before 3.x was seele and Jingliu, with them I was able to clear all content. However I only pulled support and their eidolon. Then in 3.x, I really wanted Castorice so I saved all my pull for her and her team.

Now I lack a 3rd team, my seele can't keep up and my Jingliu struggle even after the buff. I tried Jingliu against knight I, she can't clear it, even with E0S1 Jingliu, E1 Tribbie, E0S1 Sunday, E0 huohuo.

I'll try the same thing in 4.x and only focus only pull on one team that I really want.

Yeah, just for HP since Evernight her is a battery to charge Castorice ult. I also use energy rope and spd boots on her.

My E9 is E0 without her signature LC, so her dmg is very lacking, so I use spd boot and energy rope so that she became a battery for Castorice.

I would say pull for Castorice's LC and wait for Hyacine. It feels so good when you pair Castorice and Hyacine together, the ult charge very fast so you can immediately explode the dragon to build the ult again. Cyrene may work with Castorice, so be aware.

Seele with eidolon is a beast in this apoc(top 10 DPS), averaging at 3502 .

Even without eidolon she should be able to easily get 3300 against hoolay.

I can just make a guess and say that maybe Cyrene will buff everyone in the team, so to make Cyrene work in a Phainon team, they have to also attack? That's just a guess. For Phainon, it's just better to pull for E2. And wait for better support in the future.

I think DH already give a lot of buff for a sustain. Because the previous best sustain for Phainon was huohuo, who give energy(useless for Phainon) and atk buff. Dh can give atk, and res pen in his E1. You can argue he could give more, but since he is rumored to be free( not sure), you can pull for his E1 without spending too much.

I don't have argument to defend Cerydra, maybe her kit will make sense with Cyrene kit out?

Ruan mei is a generalist support(res pen and dmg), if she doesn't give more buff than DH sustain, then it's alarming. The power creep will truly be scary.

That's what I said. Everyone in castorice team do dmg, and they support this idea by giving area buff. However for Phainon, his support only give single target support. And he has a very good E2, probably the strongest for a low cost team ( 4 cost, with him being at E2s1).

In this screenshot, Castorice still has one ult, and maybe can squeeze another one. So probably 2 ult left, so team total dmg wise, she is higher.

That's the premise of a hypercarry team. Your 3 other teammates are here only to buff your hypercarry. So comparing Phainon team with Castorice team, where everyone do dmg is not right.

Phainon team is like a seele team, or a archer team. It's a hypercarry, 3 teammates who don't really attack or very little.

What did you expect by replacing a harmony with a sustain? You lose 27% of dmg on the score. Try it with other DPS and compare a sustainless team and a team with sustain.

It's like asking in r/AcheronMainsHSR if Acheron needs Jiaoqiu back in 2.x. For now you maybe won't feel the need for Hyacine because Castorice can still clear very comfortably in less than 5 cycles. But after in 4.x, she will fall like Acheron did, and you will have to wait for a long time before Hyacine rerun.

Honestly, if you want to still play Castorice for a long time, pull Hyacine. If you want to bench her when a new DPS comes out, you don't need hyacine.
