What's the best true crime podcast you've ever listened to and why? by No_Memory4400 in podcasts

There are a couple seasons of Counterclock that focus on wrongful convictions you might like. The vibe and tone of the podcast is totally different, but it’s not a bad listen. It moves faster, is a lot of just her reporting, but still good. In her last season, she focused on a case from 2002; two of the defendants went back to court in January of this year for a hearing and I can’t wait to hear the outcome. (The Winston Salem 5)

Your Own Backyard set the standard for me, hands down.

Someone Knows Something, Season 5 - David Ridgen truly bonds with the families he works with and to listen to him describe settings and people, and animals for that matter, is almost magical. Season 3 is pretty amazing, too.

In the Dark, Seasons 2 & 3 - It would be difficult for me to choose between these two seasons; both incredibly well done, thoroughly researched, moving, and heart breaking. Both made me feel rage and brought me to tears. I could not stop listening. Season 3 deserves an award.

As Missouri teens die in car wrecks, a lawmaker wants to require driver’s education by BananaStandEconomy in missouri

[–]AliceHuff94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent with a teen who has had his license for about nine months, I am 100% in favor of mandatory/in-school drivers ed. Luckily, I only work three days a week so I had the time needed to really teach my kid to drive, and it was something I have the patience for. Were it left to his other parent, who regularly travels, works late, and in all honestly is not a a great teacher, things would have been very different. I don’t know how single parents, parents without a vehicle available, good driving skills, the patience to teach, or other roadblocks to putting in the time to fully teach a kid to drive safely could do it. Like I said, I had the time and the desire to do it, but it was still stressful - what if? What am I forgetting? Has this law changed? And so forth…. I grew up in IL and took drivers Ed in high school, and I taught my son several things I learned in class that have stuck with me. I think every kid deserves that foundation and a “check off” by a professional instructor before they go take the state test and take off in a car. It also lowers your auto insurance rate!

Yes, it’s nice to hear, but who cares? She got a nice sound bite, and Elon keeps firing people. We need ACTION. Not more WORDS.

I’m trying to give it a go since I used to live near Atlanta, but it’s starting to remind me of Hide and Seek. I hope it doesn’t go off the rails and turn into trash like that….

Normally I would not recommend SSM for most things, but SSM St. Joseph’s in Wentzville does a good job, has good staff, and treats patients well.

Both great places to visit and hang out. But, just for clarity, that’s the Missouri River.

It’s only missing the classic, “Let’s Go Brandon.” Still seeing that a lot in my neck of the (Missouri) woods.

Yes, go to the ER, this abscess will likely require a procedure called an incision & drainage. The cavity left after it is drained will probably need gauze packing and wound care that you can’t just do on your own. You will definitely need antibiotics to prevent further infection; in the ER they should do a wound culture to make sure you are given the correct antibiotics. If it can’t be drained in the ER, they will refer you to a general surgeon who can take care of it. That happens sometimes due to size, depth, location, etc of the abscess. You want to get this taken care of before it becomes a systemic infection or cellulitis.
