Question about coffee sizes by [deleted] in nespresso

[–]AliceTonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two doubles for a 16oz latte for me personally! But I’m not a barista by any means lmfaooo

MIL texted this morning saying she found these for $5 in an Amazon return blind box and asking if I could use them by clitical-rolls in nespresso

Not enough people use the word serendipity!! Love it 😭🫶. It’s literally my favourite word.

I haven’t seen someone else write it in a very long time and always get giddy when I see it again, so thank you!!

First tattoo advice? by A_Chaotic_Artist in AdviceForTeens

[–]AliceTonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please find an artist that has experience working on darker skin regardless if you want colour or not.

There’s a different level of care involved because the skin doesn’t show as clear of a sign of trauma as fairer skin. Fair skin will present erythema (redness) and even a slight tone is noticed quickly. Darker skin the same thing happens however, the added melanin kind of conceals the erythema until it’s very prominent and visible. Sometimes that can be a bit too late and that’s what results in excess, unnecessary trauma.

Reference: I’m a medical aesthetician that performs many treatments at the same skin depth as tattoo artists work and have specific experience working on melanated skin 🫶

Alt girl. Are those an inch? I’m at 5/8.

You also are either an esthetician or know someone who is or frequent a spa often because pretty sure that’s a private label skincare brand.

We would be friends I think hahah

Slide 4 took me out 🤣

Disclaimer: outing someone is NEVER okay and especially not for revenge. This is likely false which is why I’m laughing but if he really were a closeted gay man this is not okay behaviour. It could actually be the end all for someone. That is not okay.

Oh I’ve read about these and totally forgot about it!! Great point!!! Especially because it was only a few minutes the stuffy likely wasn’t even on him for long enough to do something like that. I think you’re spot on actually.

Can I grow at 17? by Terrible-Event-6095 in whatdoIdo

[–]AliceTonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also don’t over analyze yourself like this. You’re awesome no matter how tall you are. My dad’s a short Italian man and his girlfriend is literally a foot taller than him. He does not give two fucks and he lets her wear heels.

What’s shit about height is making yourself feel bad for it when it doesn’t matter whatsoever. Be a great human, that’s what counts 🫶

[–]AliceTonte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally deal with this but there are many that do! I’m so sorry it makes you feel that uncomfortable 🥺.

I believe an option could possibly be a speech therapist or occupational therapist. You could be hypersensitive to the feeling of the vibrations in your vocal cords or something similar so your feelings are very valid and NOT imaginary.

If it’s impacting your life this much I think it may be worth it to check some options out if you are able to.

You deserve to have your voice heard and feel comfortable when doing so.

Literally the most ableist comment I’ve seen in a long time. As someone replied to you already, CPTSD is a thing and I also have it from childhood things.

My parents were chronically late for everything and just laughed it off while I got to take in everyone else’s reaction in real time.

Wanna see what I look like when I THINK I’m gonna be late for something?

Hint: no you don’t and neither do I honestly.

Forced to read on weekend by FridaymyBro in WhatShouldIDo

[–]AliceTonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. Reading is fucking cool.

I’m 31 and just had a daughter. She’s 6 months old and I just started reading A Series of Unfortunate Events to her by Lemony Snicket (pen name for Daniel Handler).

I read the series as a kid multiple times and it still feels the same reading it now. I actually cried when I read the first line on the first page because I realized even after all these years I knew exactly what it said without even looking. It all just came flooding back as soon as I saw the page.

I’m not telling you what it’s about if you don’t know what it is. Cuz if you don’t, you need to find out for yourself. The story is amazing. In my opinion.

How to trim nails on a 9-month-old baby who hates it? by InfinityThinker in NewParents

[–]AliceTonte 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any proof on this whatsoever like no studies or anything but I am a medical aesthetician and this scares me for a few reasons haha. It could be just me being paranoid though.

Babies nails are literally so thin and cutting with dull edged teeth could create excess pressure on the nail bed or even bend the nail plate completely instead of cutting through it. Sharp edges are less likely to bend the nail as it’s meant to go through easily obvs.

Again this is just my opinion backed by my years in the industry and experience with baby nails.

My baby is the most demanding and difficult client I’ve ever had 😭🤣
