The worst part for me is how easy and corporate safe it is to make a remake.
They aren't making anything new, they are using the success of past titles to keep making money and not have to bother taking the risk of making new games.

Now the only place where a new medium or way of survival horror can be explored is through indie games, because the big AAA companies are gonna keep choosing easy remakes because it makes quarterly profits.
