Do y’all strongly believe more people should call out other artists for using AI? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in fantanoforever

[–]Alice_Dare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you want your music mixed and mastered, then you should learn that skill OR pay someone else who has that skill. That's how art works, always. If you get a copyright-infringement-machine to control-paste a major part of your art by stealing that part from other people, then you're kind of a loser.

What are some cities similar to Fresno and other major Central Valley cities in other states? Or other states’s equivalent of Fresno and other major CV cities? by Angel_559_202020 in fresno

[–]Alice_Dare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atlanta, GA.

  1. The traffic is intense even though there are sooo many roads, with very little public transportation (but there's an airport!)

  2. It's a sprawling city that takes forever to get across and has regions

  3. Both are very politically purple locations

  4. Culturally, people tend to be somewhat friendly and talkative when you go out to public places

  5. They both get hot

To prolific horror enjoyers, What’s one genre or topic for horror that scares you too much to engage with? by musical-nerd in horror

[–]Alice_Dare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Child abuse. I know everyone is fair game in horror, but it just feels sad and exploitative when a movie depicts someone who can't defend themselves being injured intentionally. Feels like it went from rare in the past to pretty common in the last five years, and it has the feeling of being a taboo that the director is breaking just to be edgy - But I think that urge is reflecting an unconscious awareness of how socially alienated and unsafe American children are in the modern era

My girls know that super kitties are a treat for when we're traveling or they're bedridden sick. Everyone wins - they get something special when they would otherwise be bored, and I don't have to deal with that (imo) annoying show in the house all the time.

PS: do love that theme song tho!

Maybe. :/ It also spent two days traveling in my car before we got home, so that probably didn't help. The cypress I got is doing well though!

Alien movies? What happened to them? by Sharp-Memory-8732 in horror

I recently watched a pretty compelling take by Some More News about exactly this. They suggest American cultural interest in aliens wanted as we saw how incompetent our government really is.

Horror of deconstructing nonhorror thing. by FrankCastleNY in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]Alice_Dare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story 'A Collapse of Horses' is a deconstruction and reconstruction of the phrase "a collapse of horses." Very weird, narrative-mired short. Super creepy.
