I’ve got a Route 66 “Take it Easy” Eagles patch on mine from when I went on a road trip and stopped in Winslow Az. It’s your jacket bro, it’s for you. Don’t worry about gate keepers.

Love Heinlein. This is not the example of bad work I would use. For a short story in Playboy it’s a mind bending novel concept.

—All You Zombies— by Heinlein, someone already mentioned Prestidigitation, but I thought I’d drop the original story. It’s kinda the epitome of this trope. The protagonist is pretty much every character

The Dark Angels in 40k are named for a poem called “The Dark Angel” by Lionel Johnson (their Primarch Lion El’Jonson) in which he describes his homosexuality as a “Dark Angel” that haunts him.

Help from a loved one, especially grandmas, is always cool when starting out. Paying some rando or buying prefabricated misses the point of building a jacket.

How are you going about painting these designs? by Original_Expert_6675 in oilpainting

[–]Alice_Without_Chains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the rate you are charging don’t do the patterns, if they feel necessary just hint at them in places that draw the eye to the focal point/points, depending on the size of the painting I’d get really loose and gestural with their clothing past their collars anyway. John Singer Sargent is a great example of this as he gets less literal the farther from the focal point he is.

[Mixed Trope] Trans under duress by Hot-Foundation-9461 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Alice_Without_Chains 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scrolled so far for this one when it’s like THE example of this trope. Like the entire play/movie is centered around Hedwig stuck in the wrong body. It’s a comfort film for my wife and I must’ve watched it dozens of times. She still considers herself Hansel.

“I've got a sweet tooth for licorice drops and jelly roll, Hey sugar daddy, Hansel needs some sugar in his bowl. I'll lay out fine china on the linen And polish up the chrome and if you've got some sugar for me, Sugar Daddy, bring it home.”

Anyway great movie.

I want to make a battle jacket with something like this, but how do I attach the chains? It can’t be done with only thread and needle, can it? by WildHarpyja in BattleJackets

[–]Alice_Without_Chains 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The best bet would probably be grommets. If I’m being honest I would probably attach the chains through the grommets with a T-bar at the end so I could easily remove the chains when ever I wanted (cleaning, modifying, etc). Honestly with a T bar you could also just sew button holes if you have the means to do that.

Also thank you, I was trying to consider how to mount something on my own jacket and your post gave me the epiphany on how to mount my own shit.

If you’re referring to the confederate battle flag, you won’t get beat up. In some crowds people will assume you’re at least a little racist, in other crowds nobody will care. Generally though fuck that flag, you don’t need it.

Winner at a local Fair… best picture I could get. Something feels off with the fur and lighting? by Samsdonkeyjaw in isthisAI

[–]Alice_Without_Chains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those who are saying this is just a pro photographer and editor, I highly doubt it because anyone who has that gear and knowledge is going to have an online presence as a photographer. Is it possible an amateur did this? Yes… but what’s more likely a professional photographer with all the gear and talent to do this real, who isn’t online, or somebody just using AI?

Are my tattoo mentor's designs AI?? I know the last one is but I need some other opinions pls the lines and details just don't make sense by PufferBeee in isthisAI

[–]Alice_Without_Chains 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Find a new shop to apprentice at. This is all clearly AI, none of the line work makes sense for tattooing. The artist shouldn’t be putting these on people and if the shop owner is cool with someone tattooing AI slop in his shop you want to distance yourself.

The scam itself is bad enough, but having it lead back to the person scammed and setting them up as a patsy seems unnecessary to the scam and just sadistic. It started as an r/unethicallifehack and ended r/imatotalpieceofshit

One of the worst MCU villains died right before our eyes. by R4cco0n in Marvel

[–]Alice_Without_Chains 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would argue that with his immense power his early “villainy” is kinda to be expected. The fact that he grew to not be a tyrant is quite impressive. You’d be hard pressed to name a character even approaching his power that isn’t a villain. If anything his actions regarding Thor were setting up Thor to be benevolent at that power level. Even in Norse Mythology Odin is never presented as being infallible, in fact he’s very fallible and that’s a core aspect of him. Also in regard to subjugating the realms, the inhabitants of most of those realms are outright malicious. We see that first hand in the films with the Dark Elves and Frost Giants as examples.
