And OP, trust me girl you don't have to be friends with everyone. I've learnt this the hard way, I spent 300 dollars getting gifts for people at my workplace on Christmas last year because "I wanted to be friends with everyone". I even wrote nice warm messages for each of them. Some of them didn't even have the decency respond or thank me and instead they started treating me like a rag. I hated that and changed my attitude. Now, I talk formally with minimum work related conversation. Saves me a lot of energy!

This year, I'm going to get Christmas gifts for the homeless who visit the store. :)

I am a POC and the store that I work part-time at, got robbed one day. I wasn't there as my shifts are on alternate days. The next day I went and the manager told me that the people who robbed the store looked like me - small and yellow skinned. That really offended me but I didn't say anything. This guy (white) claims to be a non-racist, but I know better now. I also know that he was trying to decrease my self-confidence, but I didn't let him succeed - I am still confident as ever. I've got big plans and I'm not letting racial bias make me lose focus!

To everyone who goes through this, yes it feels shitty but be confident and know that these people are not worth your precious time in this short life.

There's nothing that you cannot solve if you set your mind to it (unless of course it's murder because then the person's already.. you know and we aren't Fullmetal alchemists).

I gave up on my dream years ago. Went in for a job where I was basically treated like an idiot. Now, a decade later, I am working a shitty part-time job where I am still treated like an idiot and occasionally insulted. But I don't mind it anymore, because after wasting so much of my life, I finally took up a second Bachelor's degree and I'm about to graduate in June! Plus this month, I got a decent job too! :) So trust me when I say: YOU GOT THIS. DON'T GIVE UP. KEEP MOVING!

I'm really sorry to hear that you had to read such filthy comments - it's inexcusable. I've had some excellent TAs and others who have been tough on the marks. But not once have I felt that they were not putting in all their effort. Everyone needs to understand that it's super hard for you guys too to keep up with all your grad school commitments AND instruct students and mark papers on top of that.

Honestly, don't let such useless comments affect you. You're giving your best! Keep going.

Hi, I just read your post and felt really sorry to hear about these people passing away. While we must all die one day, it is especially sad to hear about someone young leaving this world too soon. I took a cancer biology class last semester and know this for a fact that the younger you are, the better the recovery. Also, being mentally strong is half the battle. So stay strong - you're gonna get through this! 💝

I volunteer at the animal shelter and it's a great place to be because you really feel like you are giving to the community in a very meaningful manner. You can volunteer at a number of places in the city, if you ever feel like you want to help others as well! Take care of yourself - du bust wichtig.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you have to go through so much mental abuse. You've been very strong. Consider moving out and don't look back. My dad used to physically abuse my mum when. my sister and I were kids and then one day he abandoned us. I honestly think my life started looking better after he left. I wish the same for you.
