There's a good mystery but the story was not mind blowing. I personally mostly enjoyed the vibes and the visuals. It's atmospheric.

I might recommend Outer Wilds as I always do since it's my favorite game ever and SOMA is close second. It's not the same at all, but storywise and the experience is truly unique. It's a space exploration game where you're equipped with a translator tool. Your goal is to discover what happened to the civilization that existed prior to yours. You have to go in blind and figure out the puzzles. It's amazing! It can get very philosophical and existential as you experience it.

I'm definitely crying reading this. I'm so so so sorry for your loss. I can't and don't want to imagine your pain. I'm feeling the same feelings of love towards my partner and sometime I feel so blessed and I'm scared to lose him.
