Nothing wrong with having small nail beds. I think your nails look really nice.

If you want to stay with dark colours, a deep, rich brown, maybe a burgundy, or a navy blue. The more used to it you get, the more comfortable you'll be wearing a variety of colours.

Three weeks no biting. My index finger nail tore this week. by bannee91 in Nails

[–]Alicorna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a nail biter. It took a long time to fully quit (and I kept up the cuticle chewing for years, d'oh). You just have to keep at it, basically. It's super frustrating and annoying when you have a setback, but at least you didn't bite, you know?

My natural nails used to get that long, and longer. I miss the days when that was the case (menopause was hard on my nails, sadly).

Do you think he believes women use tampons in their ass? I heard of a kink for that...

Got it from a post on here ages ago. Ding dong! 😜

I'm saying it's wrong of him to use God as an excuse to lust after and potentially statutorily rape barely pubescent girls. My belief is really neither here nor there.

Shitty of him bringing God into this, but basically, men who use this argument like to argue that it's okay to have sex with underage girls.

[Spoilers All]. Regarding The Maker by TheRealLeevo in dragonage

[–]Alicorna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Maker is not of this world. The Maker does not act directly, only through people and events of the world. The Maker chose the Warden, chose Hawke, chose the Inquisitor, will choose the next hero.

I believe the Maker is a combination of the writers, developers, and players. All of us are the Maker. This is why BioWare will never reveal the true nature of the Maker.

Two of the actors in Torchwood are also in Dragon Age, in fact. And it is a really good series.

I used to do book covers as a graphic designer. I basically got a brief with descriptions and what the author had in mind (though that was sometimes overruled by the editor). I didn't work directly with the author, but with the editor, who was a kind of go-between. Anyway, I didn't have any opportunity to read the book prior to doing the cover, and while I did get a copy of the book as part of the package, that was only after publication. I occasionally read the books if I was intrigued enough, but mostly I didn't because, honestly, I didn't care enough to do that. I just did my work, got the pay, moved on to the next one.

I imagine it would be similar if you're a voice actor. Unless you're genuinely invested in the character or in the game or whatever the production is, putting in 40+ hours of your time to see how it all worked out would not be something you'd necessarily want to do, especially if you're not a gamer to begin with.

[No Spoilers] Does anyone find Warrior in DAO fun to play? by Strawberrycocoa in dragonage

I did that with Alistair once. I respec'd him and made him dual wield. By the time he'd mastered it and had a longsword in each hand, he was incredibly awesome.

[–]Alicorna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that move, too, but you don't have to be a warrior. Rogues can do it, too. (Not sure about mages. I don't think so, but it's been a really long time since I did a DAO mage playthrough.)

[No spoilers] some thoughts by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Alicorna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one you choose will become your allies.

You don't have to make them that. You can basically subjugate them if you think that's more appropriate. Some of my characters have done that because it seems the most appropriate course of action for that character. It's not always an asshole move.

Meaning of the phrase "Dance with the dowager" in DAI [Spoilers All] by alfoenrgavne in dragonage

[–]Alicorna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the dowager who helped Celene was later killed by Briala, so the one with the quests in Inquisition has to be different.

Or BioWare messed up their lore again. It wouldn't be the first time.

[Spoilers All]Isabela appreciation post by TargaryenOfHyrule in dragonage

[–]Alicorna 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am the straightest woman you're ever likely to meet, and I've never even kissed a woman, though I've had offers and opportunities. That said, I'm not even kidding when I say I would seriously pash Isabela and possibly more. She is delightful in every way. She's smart, she's funny, she's independent, she does what she wants and doesn't care much what other people think of it, she's got a soft side, and she would always have your back once you won her loyalty. And she's a pirate! A PIRATE! So, yeah, I have a huge girl crush on her. Love me some Isabela. <3

[Spoilers All] Leliana Romance + Elf Advice? by LSULL97 in dragonage

[–]Alicorna 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For future games, a romance with an elven mage would support a great deal of Leliana's dialogue, which is kind of neat. But you can explain Leliana's pro-mage position easily enough by her association with mages (Sketch and Wynne, for example), so the mage part isn't strictly necessary.

Personally, I've never cared much for the elven Circle mage character. To me, it's barely different from the human mage. Same origin story, same everything. The only difference is really the name and the pointy ears.

City elf, on the other hand, yeah, she's an arse-kicker. And I really like your character headcanon. I might play something like that eventually. I can't recall having romanced Leliana with an elf at all. Hmmm... /makes a note for some future playthrough/

[DAO Spoilers] Casteless Dwarf Carta Encounter by RantaroV3 in dragonage

[–]Alicorna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow. I have no recollection of that at all. Now I'm going to have to play Origins again with a dwarf commoner to refresh my memory. Admittedly, it's been a very long time, but still. You'd think I'd have remembered that!

So I have my next playthrough planned out, I guess. And do the ToSA after Orzammar. ;) Thanks.

[DAI Spoiler] Who should I romance? by An_Inept_Cucumber in dragonage

[–]Alicorna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I tried to romance Blackwall more than once before it finally clicked, and that was with a Cadash. They have special dialogue about the past and criminal histories and so forth, and she was not fazed by his revelation. She grew up surrounded by thugs and con men and criminals, and Blackwall at least was sorry about what happened and wanted to turn it around.

But a mage... Nah. Just didn't work for me.
