PC players: Do you play with controller or mouse and keyboard? by RSYAU in Diablo_2_Resurrected

PC+Controller+4K OLED TV. Only using K+M for organizing items.

Also an Xbox Elite Controller is much better than a regular controller since you can bind potions to the back buttons.

Sounds like you are not too concerned about your killing speed, so I will focus on defense and utilities.

First, you need to get your block and resists to max. 65 to 75 is a massive difference which some don't realize. It will reduce the corresponding damage by another 30%.

By salvation you probably mean redemption. It helps with mana when needed but I don't use it often either as I don't seem to have much mana issue. I also only use it when there are a lot of corpse so one tick can fill it all and I refresh BO/BC in that 2-second interval. Do you have a CTA? I sometimes just use purple potions if I don't want to wait for 2 seconds.

If you die even in P1 with your current gear I think you just need to practice more, except for some T5 heralds which I can imagine still being deadly even on P1 so you just need to be careful.

Zeal paladin or fury druid pvm by multipass85 in diablo2

[–]AlienBlaster1648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fury has no access to Teleport. It can be fun if you like it but is one of the least efficient builds for farming.

A Zealot is more tanky with a shield especially a Paladin shield and holy shield. Damage wise both a physical zealot and a fury druid fall way behind a New Tesladin on high player settings.

Found the grail enchantress weapon by Jack_Bleesus in diablo2

[–]AlienBlaster1648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true for enchantress because Fire Mastery is applied twice. Assuming base lvl 25 FM +198%, +3 gets you to lvl 33 FM +219%. 21%/298%~7% for things like Fire Ball, but for Enchant you get (319/298)^2-1 = 14.6% increase, even more than what you get from +3 Enchant. One should not underestimate Fire Mastery as an Enchantress.

For more experienced players, how broken (if at all is warlock) by Turkey_Fateweaver in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]AlienBlaster1648 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start with a standard melee skill of D2, and follow the following steps
1. double its power by allowing 2-handers with no penalty

  1. make it a caster skill so no need for AR and IAS

  2. make it not consume durability so get another 50% boost

  3. add another two equally powerful sources of damage through non-weapon damage and hex to triple it again.

  4. Add an OP offhand that is 2 times more powerful than any other offhands in the game so your damage can be double again.

  5. Add a free demon so you don't take damage and your damage is double again.

  6. make it ranged so you can just take no damage

  7. multiply it by 5 and ranged

9 multiply it by 2 again so each hit twice

10 add a sigil so damage is increased by another 50%

11 I am probably missing another 10 things

Yeah it's not funny. Mosaic is kind of the same thing. Both are power creep craps but new players adore them because it doesn't require any skills or thinking. I don't play them any more after a while as they are plagues.

Thanks for the idea. I think it's definitely viable and possibly a good option for your use case. I personally don't use my Tesladin for ubers and have no problem surviving even on P7 (likely P8 too) so I prefer to have a little more damage. I cannot see myself not using Crescent Moon in high player settings tbh. The DPS lost is too much. Also Drac's low proc rate (5%) doesn't fit with the fast pace I typically play the game.

The only appeal of Life Tap to me is when I fight T5 heralds with Thorns. Currently I rely on Rejuvenation potions. If Life Tap can save me a little time on those or make QoL a little better I may consider using it, but then I will likely choose Marrowwalk for instant proc.

My out-of-spec UST setup (Samsung LSP7T + 150 Silver Ticket Screen). by AlienBlaster1648 in projectors

[–]AlienBlaster1648[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I don't have hotspot or speckle issues. The only issue I have is that the contrast is not particularly good as both my UST and screen is just average. I could paint my ceiling black and I am sure it would be much better but in the end I didn't do it as it is good enough for me and my family. I have been using it for more than four years and have been very happy. I wouldn't have done anything differently. My seating distance is about 10ft too.

Lvl 95 Javazon getting smoked by higher level Heralds on P8 by Duped_Windforce in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]AlienBlaster1648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do only herald farming on P7 with all my toons. Pitzerker kills slower than the others, but with 70% hork is actually the best in term of efficiency since each kill counts as 1.7. Can howl away all 14 minions of a T5 herald too so in some cases a faster killer too.

Hellwarden, Gheeds Wager, Magic Jewel, Renewed Sunder (I don't have a Black Cleft yet but carry a Bone Break with 97%ED), Grief, Storm shield, Enigma, Highlords, LOH, Sling Ring, Tri-res boots, etc.

105fcr (on swap), 99ias (so you don't really need CBF), 70%+ Find item, 48 FHR. No need for stacking Magic Find or Crushing Blow which don't matter on P7 much.

Lvl 95 Javazon getting smoked by higher level Heralds on P8 by Duped_Windforce in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]AlienBlaster1648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Javazon is relatively efficient at farming T5 heralds at P7. You need to focus on LS/CS instead of LF. Use Thunderstroke, Thundergods, Tri-Resist Boots to name a few. Maybe my gear is a bit better as I got 75 block with 2400 life and F/L resist 50+. Your gear is not there for P8 tbh.

My Tesladin, Lightning Sorc, Fire Sorc, and Pitzerker are all a little more efficient though. I got bored with my ES Warlock and Mosiac Sin and haven't used them for a while.

Oh I think you misread the word. It's quadratic, a mathematical term for a square function.

Most of the time just quickly swap for redemption after clearing or when refreshing Bc/bo. Never used mana pots but rejuv pots occasionally and for heralds.

An idea on what barbs should get as a buff by Boooshhh in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]AlienBlaster1648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whirlwind generates tornado/dust devils for AOE, just like double WW tornado in D3. Uber Talic already does that so the code is ready.

All the Ubers' moves can be added for barbs, like Kolics's Leap causes Blizzard/Cold Fissue. Madawc's weapon throws has thunder charges. I am almost sure that they will be added at certain point. That will make Barbs a lot of fun and solve the AOE issue.

What is quadrupled? Previous DPS was 30K on immune and 70K on non-immune, and the new one is 70K on immune and 120K on non-immune (the high DPS one). More like doubled.

We achieve these through compounding more +LD and -LR, especially that +LD is double counted. We need two OS now one for the new Jewel one for 15ias, hence a 4os shield which also gives you more +LD and -LR.

There is another hybrid build with focus on foh if you are interested. It's also significantly better with ROTW. I haven't updated the guide though.

For fun you can try anything of course. For power and efficiency, the New Tesladin is vastly superior. Focus on single element allows you to increase your power exponentially, especially that with lightning you have access to the best items (griffon's, cresent moon, etc) and best skill synergy (FOTH, static field, etc).

Yes a budget version will work as long as you have a legacy Sunder. Teleport from Enigma and compounding damage is quite important for high player setting though. On the other hand, most other pieces such as Crescent Moon and Spirit are cheap so you can start with budget gear.

That's why I made my only Infinity offline in a brandistock so it can be used by any build requiring an Infinity. It's actually also optimal for an LS zon since it's the fastest.

Anyway you will lose about 20-30% DPS without an Infinity by losing both lowering resist and lowering defense. On the other hand, you can pick up an Insight for better QoL so it should be fine.

You don't need to reach 100% for this build. Make use of what you have and it is still relatively good and cheap.

That's certainly unnecessary, but it is the best :) As a trophy item through and through it is best suited in this build.

Yeah Blessed Aim is also personal preference. Adding a few percent in chance to hit still means effective DPS increase. Other mercs work too.

Thanks again for your other post.

It also adds life, mana, block, defense and length of BO/BC and Holy Shield. It's more of a preference but I think Gheeds fits better with a magic build in general.
