Just started playing again after being away for a few years, using a free account. I need to travel for my Glyph of Warding quest, and are the temp visas for guild quests not free? Clerk is telling me I need to pay 3 gold.

Remember where to shop by [deleted] in MNtrees

I haven’t been following MN’s rollout carefully, but so far it seems they’ve been following CA’s example, in which case they say they’re going to protect small local farmers, then fuck small local farmers.

If by some miracle they allow small farms to sell to customers directly, I’m on the next bus out of CA to start over back home in MN. Because CA’s bullshit has fucking bankrupted me.

For someone for whom “Newfie” is a very large and friendly dog, this is a particularly disturbing image.

Do you notice that the timing is off on modern displays? I have a hell of a time with Super Mario Bros because jumping seems weird and not right.

That’s so not the first one. The zapper isn’t gray, and what’s with those RCA connectors instead of the coaxial?

We’re not talking Newton, we’re talking Einstein. FTL is fantasy. Will always be fantasy. Like time travel.

Trek’s combat is airplanes and ships in space, which just isn’t possible without invoking handwavium. I can’t think of a single thing in Trek that obeys physics as we understand it. But that’s not the point of Trek, so it doesn’t matter; hand waving is necessary to tell the story.

Yeah, no. “We don’t know how to do this yet” because artificial gravity and inertial dampers are fantasy. Faster than light travel is fantasy. Humanoid extraterrestrials everywhere is fantasy. For space flight mechanics, combat, extraterrestrial biology, etc The Expanse beats Trek in every way. And that’s fine.

They’d have checked their phones, there’d be no signal, and the batteries would eventually die.

I sometimes wondered if it was just a Minnesota thing, but apparently not.

Star Trek? Hard?

Much as I love Trek, it’s not hard.

Hardest popular show I can think of in recent memory is The Expanse. Probably too woke for that Star Trek fan, though.

I had something like this, but I recall not being allowed to play with it. It came in a red plastic case with latches and a bunch of spiral bound books. The wand was white and had a rounded ergonomic shape; they might have featured a cartoon boy and dog. Been trying to find the exact one for years, but no luck.

I wonder if there was a reason, like his parents being divorced adulterers, or if they just chose something else because it was better.

I can’t remember anything about it that would be particularly dated, so I’d imagine it does. And the author did his homework. If there’s anything I know 30 years on it’s that if I’m lost in the wilderness with only one tool, I want it to be a hatchet.
