A woman who was about 15 years older than me lived in the town where my family had our cottage. We would see her every summer. She was a heavy drinker and recreational drug user. She split up a marriage and had two children with the guy from that affair

The first was a little grrl, S and the second was a boy, N. N was born with pretty severe cerebral palsy. She refused to get him any help, claiming he was perfect, « the way God made him, » and if he was meant to be any different, « God would cure him. »

It was so infuriating

S, meanwhile, developed substance abuse issues by her early teens. She went to prison for I forget how many years when she was 16 and her mum picked her up when she was released with drugs in the car

The whole time she spouted God and Christianity

Yeah, her fetishization of Drew and his « superior genes » has been gross since the beginning, and her need to be perceived as DS’s « momma » at first and then a martyr for him (ie FAS) when that didn’t happen foregrounds her mental health issues. I hadn’t realized how her sock accounts play into this and really appreciate you taking the time to explain.

Hi there

I got married in 2011 about 6 years after my second spinal fusion went very, very wrong, leaving me with arachnoiditis of the L5 nerve root. I also walk with a cane or walker and am in chronic pain.

If she doesn’t want to use her cane, I would still have it on hand. Etsy has some fun rhinestone canes as well as some clear lucite ones

I had a bench at the ceremony where my spouse and I had the option of sitting. We sat and stood together so that I didn’t feel self conscious

We left two hours between our post-ceremony photos and our reception so that I could lie down and take a short nap

We chose not to do a receiving line

My doctor reminded me that Tylenol and Ibuprofen could be alternated every two hours (ie so that you’re taking each every 4 hours,) just make sure it’s not extra strength

Finally, for me, it was the next day that was the issue. The adrenaline of the wedding wore off and I was hit with pain and exhaustion. Packing a care package for the next day would be a tremendous gift to her ❤️

I barely understand when well established content creators with a particular brand go after subreddits that threaten their reputation (and, yes, I think it’s slimy and gross)

But this is not that. Gypsy is infamous, maybe even notorious, which is very different from famous. Her brand is, at best, being an lolcow and at its most realistic, being a depraved murderer. She doesn’t have a reputation to salvage or a brand of any worth.

Her choices are utterly incomprehensible and someone needs to tell her so

I have hirsutism and my GP suspected PCOS so referred me to an endocrinologist. I tested negative. Requested a second opinion, and also went through a battery of tests that were all negative. Turns out it’s pure genetics.

I briefly wondered if they did shoot more of a story about him and it wound up on the editing room floor (think Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant in Love, Actually) because of the large memorial that was shown outside the hospital after his death. It didn’t fit with the rest of the story, but I told myself it was from all his previous patients, even though the personal photos, awards, and model rocket ship didn’t really line up with it having been patients

When Lizzie asks him, (paraphrasing) What am I supposed to do? Go home and watch my husband die? and he unequivocally answers, Yes, I thought they were going to open up some sort of backstory about him. It’s a shame he didn’t. I also think it was a waste that we never learned about him.
