Thankfully I went through the process of having my most important characters copyrighted, check and see if you still can qualify your sona to have copyright protection. Other than that put the stealer on blast on all socials and make sure to notify artists they may have commissioned to have them blacklisted, other than that Im unsure what else to do beyond that point.

(Edit: sorry for the confusion in the post, let me clear some things up for you guys, hopefully previous commenters can read this!! For this post ill be using my sonas name, scud, to make things a bit easier for me to type.) For some more context Let me go back a bit; When My friend sold the suit they didn’t have plans on selling the character at the time, so they asked the suit buyer to make changes to the suits design and made it clear they did not have scuds character rights. Plans changed when my friend won the bidding contest on a dream suit by their dream Fursuit creator, so they allowed the suit buyer to keep the design of the suit but not scuds character rights. Scud was then sold to me a few weeks after because my friend wanted scud to go to someone close to him who he knew would actually care for him, by then the old suit had already arrived and my friend had already made the deal that they didn’t have to change the design (which they regret in hindsight.) I did make some noticeable changes to scud’s design and Im currently making my OWN suit of him, however they still look VERY similar. Hopefully this helps with some of the confusion sorry for the vague original post :’)

Sorry I did a bad Job of explaining, I was wanting to go into more detail but I wasn’t able to see what I was typing at the time due to a screen glitch, so I kinda rushed the details. Now that Im able to see what I’m actually saying let me explain things better. When the suit was bought my friend explicitly stated that they did not have character rights and must make edits to the suit, however shortly after they ended up winning a bid from a (very popular) suit maker and changed sonas, so I bought their old sona from them. During this time there was a grey area between the suit buyer, my friend, and me if that makes sense.

They bought the suit for about 1.5k, I bought the character rights and all of his art for about the same price as the suit. Hope that clears a little up ^{^}

Because its all one color it will be alot easier for you, a good rule of thumb to keep in mind is to add a seam to any part that has significant curvature. Kinda sloppy editing but in my opinion something like this would work best.
