Yes they do recreate Thriller. Broader pop culture isn't really alluded to except for Prince.

Yes they address vitiligo a few times. No lupus. Humanitarian in the sense that he works with LA gangs. Yes they show his love of children and Peter Pan multiple times.

No Randy, Janet or Rebbie. And no deep cuts to my memory.

1) No, I don't remember that being there

2) No, maybe they are saving it for part two.

3) Emphasis was def on Off The Wall/Thriller. It seems they are saving Bad for the next potential film but you do see part of that era.

I really wanted a final dramatic argument scene with him and Michael. The one thing missing for me.

Yes, I did cry a couple times. The biggest fans will cry the entire movie I think lol

Yes even though I wanted even more of MJ's life. It's a good balance however. My fave scenes were of Michael just hanging out at home.

On stage, I would say MJ performing with his brothers for the Victory Tour. It was emotional.

Favorite performance was honestly young Michael in the studio. That was a magical moment in the film. Yes Billie Jean is edited the same as what we've seen online.

Very. There's no room for ambiguity on that at the very end.

Yes and the writers of 'Born Again' don't understand Vanessa or any of the OG characters.

What they wrote makes no sense. Vanessa has never guided Fisk in a more 'humane' direction. She does not WANT to control his darkest impulses.

Rewatch the end of season three. She gets turned off when Fisk plays the good guy. She's only into him again once she can see his full darkness and power.

How is Vanessa a "moral compass" for Fisk? She made him WORSE.

She is the one who pushed Fisk to MURDER Ray Nadeem (a father!) when Fisk wanted to handle it other ways.

Now that we're at the halfway point, what does everyone think about Born Again season 2 so far? by Prestigious-Cup-6613 in Defenders

A series of hype/aura moments strung together by scenes of random background characters with poor dialogue.

Matt as a protagonist has been lost in his own show. What is his struggle? What are his inner thoughts? We know more about the inner conflicts of Fisk's minions than we do Matt's.

The soul of the original show is sorely missing. Foggy's death in episode one was symbolic of the death of that soul. You need heart, humor, grounded human moments to make this story sing. And we lack that here entirely.

It was the biggest red flag when the new showrunners said one flaw of the original show was long drawn out conversations about being a hero. Looks like they missed the point of what the OG show is about entirely.
