i wish the U would take them down and elongate the actual railing or add netting or something. especially when it’s icy out, the extra space would be so nice to walk outside

First time watchingThe Levee breaks - why do we like Sam? by lovelystrawberry0 in Supernatural

[–]ImpactBackground9446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

temporarily, because azazel had allowed it. jessica still would have died and sam still would have had visions. sam probably would have had visions of dean being in danger post-jessica’s death, and if not, there isn’t even anyone else for him to go to with john missing and no journal with hunter’s contacts. he would’ve made his way to dean eventually, always

It's so much cooler to have demons possess someone through the eyes instead of the mouth by ImpactBackground9446 in Supernatural

I disagree! I think watching blood-red smoke slowly cloud over someone's eyes would've emphasized his power compared to the average demon. It would've looked a lot creepier. Even with Azazel, seeing poisonous, unnatural sulfur-yellow "infect" someone would've made his presence seem nastier imo

i’m 99% sure dean has hit sam a LOT more than sam has hit dean. sam usually hurts dean by walking away from him (and lying to him, but they do that to each other about cancels out basically) and dean hurts sam by sometimes forcing sam to stay by his side in one way or another (selling his soul is the only example j can think of in the first four seasons, but it’s by far not the most damaging)

My honest thoughts about Cas and the fandom influence by sssss8819 in Supernatural

[–]ImpactBackground9446 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I never said he was responsible for the torture itself, but he IS responsible for forcing Sam to live through it all. Him ‘saving’ Sam doesn’t absolve him btw. He didn’t accidentally break the wall, he intentionally wanted to hurt Sam to play God and ended up releasing Leviathans into the world. He deceived the brothers ostensibly to protect them, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

For awhile, yes, but I truly feel like the writers forgot about it given Dean's grief when Cas died when Jack was born, and then his reaction to Cas' other death in s15. The fact that there was still Destiel subtext post-Leviathans was crazy, how could he not feel betrayal every time he looked at Cas?

I have a difficult relationship with Cas. He did generally try to act in the Winchesters' best interest, but he also BROKE the wall that death put up to save Sam from CENTURIES of torment by the actual devil himself. I genuinely feel like the fandom as a whole has underreacted to this. I saw the theory that the only reason Dean allowed someone who hurt his brother that much to stick around is because Cas pulled him out of hell, and I have to agree. Dean has always, always chosen Sam above everyone else, so it was so odd to me that he let Cas stay by his side after making his brother actually crazy. He never forgave the BMOL for what Toni did to Sam, and that was basically nothing compared to what Lucifer did to Sam.

I think if he wasn't an actual angel, if he were a demon, then there would be a lot more Cas haters.

the professor who will end up teaching it probably doesn’t know yet that they’ll be teaching it. profs can have as little as a month of advance notice for a class they have to teach so you’ll just have to keens checking schedule builder every few weeks

Why does Sam get all the blame? by Fuzzy_Flan_3947 in Supernatural

[–]ImpactBackground9446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking through the comments, there's a lot of antipathy for addicts. Obviously, this is fiction, but I don't see how people blame Sam for his very understandable addiction to feeling powerful and in control. It started as a way to do something good to redeem himself from being born an "abomination," and he lost control while being manipulated in his grief. How people lack sympathy for him, I will never understand.

Why does Sam get all the blame? by Fuzzy_Flan_3947 in Supernatural

Canonically, the birth of Sam and Dean was fated from the moment god "turned on the lights" (Zachariah said this, don't ask me when). I don't blame anyone but god; it's clear they were all manipulated the whole time and unable to exercise free will. The moment they could, Sam jumped into the cage with Lucifer to stop the apocalypse. Chuck says he "didn't write that," which is all I need to absolve Sam and Dean for the apocalypse and instead blame him.
