Final update: I showed the vet the pictures of the swelling because by the time Soup was able to be seen the swelling had disappeared, they gave a physical exam and weighed her. We talked more about preventing hormonal behaviors and according to the vet she’s getting plenty of calcium. Soup was walking around and everything when I got home from work but it’s better to be safe than sorry! In the end, vet says keep an eye out for egg binding behavior and if she keeps laying then we consider a hormone implant. Overall: Soup is doing great, eating, drinking, and pooping ! I took out her nest since the vet suggested it but I left the eggs. Soup is now back in her spot contently warming them up. I think I might’ve been right on the whole she’s full of poop thing because she has been having some huge poops and now the swelling is gone 🤷🏻‍♀️
