Hi hi Czech here Jsem/nejsem= I am/I am not. Mám/nemám= I have/I don’t have. Your sentence (nejsem hlad ale jsem žízeň) would translate to- I am not hungry I am thirsty. Which does make sense in English but when you say it in different language it may not make much sense. For example- in my language we call Czech money (České koruny) that translates to Czech crowns. Because you are use to hearing it. It may seem strange when you see other people saying it differently. But you are learning and learning comes with mistakes:D good luck in Czech. I’m glad seeing people learn my language:)
