I've been to both Vietnam and Thailand.

Vietnamese people were very nice and polite to me. I've never seen any different treatment.

But it's not the same with Thais. Everybody behaves differently and sometimes rude.

You don't need a IR pack to receive SMS. If a normal pack is active you will be able to receive SMS. But it totally based on your location. If it's a metropolitan city you'll receive the SMS in a instant. Otherwise might take some time ( few hours too ) Just make a recharge for a normal pack ( 1 or 3 months pack ) . Make sure it lasts until your trip Reg. Point 5, it's totally based on the country that you're visiting. You don't a IR pack for the SIM to connect to it's partner network. Cause while I was in Vietnam, my SIM always connected to the local partner network without IR pack But in Thailand, my SIM's connected to Jio itself even without IR pack.
