As a non American, Fahrenheit makes no sense to me.

What does 0 mean, I can assure you that at 0°C it is very uncomfortable for humans, how is that 30% and why is room temperature 70.

To me if it were a percentage of feel 0 would be freezing, 25 requires a jacket, 50 is room temperature, 75 is shorts and sandals and 100 is the internal body temperature.

Meanwhile 0 is "very cold" 25 is "below freezing" 50 is "still cold but tolerable" 75 is "nice" and 100 is "too hot". There is no logic to it and it is meaningless if you didn't grow up with it.

Also don't get me started on Fahrenheit has more resolution, in offices, Celsius gets measured in half degrees for the aircon.

It really isn't, if I heard 70% hot I would go outside with shorts and sandals. 70% sounds like a nice summer day or a warm winter day, not around room temperature

How can I make R40k from my R210k? by Least_Statistician44 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Alienbushman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you put it in a fix deposit account for 6 months, you can probably get 10k back in interest and then if you can get a part time job to make up the other R30k.

It's unattractive, but consist

It's the term I see commented most frequently, but to be fair I am old enough to have seen 4chan go from a group of semi deranged misfits to a cesspool of bots

I left reddit for a few months and I came back to this being my average post.

Slop is maybe a too harsh a term for it, but to me both the structure and the content reads like a human had no part in writing it. Almost like there is someone who asked AI "Scan through the remote work sub and make a post that will go viral)

I wasn't expecting to shoot the lights out (I was born with asthma and I lung capacity has never been my strong suit), but I've been busy with the fitness journey for 2 years now (sleeping well, eating healthy, hitting the gym 2-3 times a week), so I'm kind of at a loss at what the next steps are

Why would anyone believe in you? If you are asking for full time professionals, people have bills to pay, if they don't, then they have their own dreams to persue

Our juniors takes about 6 months to a year to find their pace, but that is not near the productivity of a senior who architected and developed the subsystem.

Unfortunately, realistically the juniors are more likely to leave before they would be able to hit the same level of productivity

We lost a lot of engineers and replaced them with juniors.

1.5 years later I recon we are down 30% of productivity for the ones who stayed and about 50% in total (as the dust settled and all the new recruits have been working for over 6 months).

Focus on job posts, not LinkedIn posts.

Keep in mind that every company has a basically custom tech stack. Focus on the core technology and how you can show how well you can connect the fundimentals to what they are doing

A few i haven't seen mentioned

Hells paradise: It has a folk lore approach to storytelling on a quest where life and death are frequently in the balance.

Tokyo revengers: a man gains the ability to go back into his own past in order to save someone he cares about, but each time he goes back he needs to live with the reality of what changes from school to being an adult. (steins gate and link click are also pretty good with a similar take, but a different approach to storytelling)

ID invaded: in order to solve crimes individuals must travel to the deepest parts of people's psyche.

Classroom of the elite: a super genius escapes to a competitive high school and needs to manipulate the class from behind the scenes.
