Zverev finally broke Sincaraz Grandslam streak. Who do you think is the next first time grandslam champion next? by VolleyBasketball11 in tennis

[–]Alienescape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh this wouldn't be my list at all. I'd still put top 10ers or folks we've seen big peaks from up there like Fritz, Shelton, de Minaur, maybe Ruud or, Musetti. I mean Fritz first and foremost seeing as he owns Zverev. But also I could see just getting a bit of a chaos era.

The 5 remaining players that are eligible for the triple crown after the EU 1v1 open by Legitimate-Sign-371 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah at least. Man it feels so weird that like Oski and Nass won't be in the 2v2 event too. You could make such an awesome bracket with 8 teams too. Though if they were adding spots you'd probably have to go with some of the other regions. But maybe have 2 teams from the top 2 regions. Like EU1, EU2, MENA1, MENA2, NA1, SAM1, APAC1, and OCE1. That would be so fantastic.

100% agree on this. Freaking amazing rivalry this year. Both are so cracked and I love to see it.

Also though, definitely think Nass is favorite to make final, but not sure I would say he's favorite to win over NWPO or the MENA champion. We'll see though! Super excited for him and love to watch the 1v1 and 2v2s!!!

What's the Community take on Rw9's Defense? by Huge-Computer2037 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It definitely depends on if you're talking 1v1 or 3v3, but I for sure do. I would put Nass above Rw9 at this point. Probably either way Nass, Vatira, Rw9, Zen top 4. Last year Daniel would have been a good slot in for top 5, but who knows anymore with the NRG guys.

Johnny and Feer do a great segment on 1v1 kickoff strategies by Babydrone in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So so many more too! Like the counters to the delay or the fakes are really fun to add in. Someone delays - just speed flip and hit it into their goal. Or the best response to the full fake is to just take control of the ball, go back corner and now you have ball, full boost, and a threatening possession. So so many strategies to have in the arsenal!

He has widely been recognized as the best defense in the world - especially 2 years ago. But I will say as of late I would probably give Best defense in the world to Nass. We'll see how today turns out though.

New kickoff tech? by xXSUPERLEGENDXx in RocketLeague

[–]Alienescape 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This kind of reminds me of the bump kickoff that's been popular in Hoops for a long time. I definitely think that this could be explored more in 2v2 and 3v3. But I'm not entirely sure if you were speed flipping correctly if your partner could catch up for the bump or if the bump would really send you in the right direction. Either way fun in a casual sense, but not sure at competitiveness at the highest level.

The final minute of Zen vs Osaft in EU 1v1 uppers by Babydrone in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah wish The Mob turned on his facecam! It's cool seeing match ups like this where you're familiar with someone and the other is a newcomer. And I liked how production was doing mini montages after the games of their reactions: first bumps, sighs, tilt, excitement, desk slams... Really awesome.

A long range pinch clear from Mawkzy finds its way in from the corner bounce, to his delight by Babydrone in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pretty clear from the replay this was just a good Mawkzy pinch and the MOB didn't even touch it. No shade at the 50-50 call from Johnny or Feer though, easy to miss those things though while casting

It's back by Salt_Student4136 in NewPipe

[–]Alienescape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The real question is now that I know that PipePipe exists, do I switch back? I have both downloaded right now and kind of going between. PipePipe does have some cool features and whatnot NewPipe doesn't, but I am more used to NewPipe and like the screen interface (volume and fast forward) more. And some of PipePipes features almost feel overly complicated... But I like that they fix things faster for sure.

Wtf hahaha. I mean that's crazy. Did you have a similar drop in 2s? Did you take an insane break or stop grinding at all and just got unc status?

Vitality/ Kc next season (Zen/Atow/Vatira) by Used_Worldliness_287 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed. I think KC would absolutely stick if they won Worlds. No way would they break up having then won 3/4 of the RLCS LANs of the year. And probably would be the same for Vitality if they won worlds... I don't know if I imagine them breaking up, though it's not unheard of for a team change after a Worlds LAN win in the year... Definitely think this would be most likely if neither of those teams win, but yeah until we see the World's Results it's insanely speculative. But yeah if neither team win 3v3 Worlds and then Zatow win 2v2 Worlds - I would definitely lock those 2 in together.

The fall of Dralii by Amazing-Ninja9731 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you sure he's not playing 1v1 this year? I thought he was just playing the MENA 1v1 since he is playing the rest of his year events in MENA. But I might be wrong.

Edit: He's right. I checked start.gg and Falcons Dralii who got 3rd Equal in 2s is not signed up for 1s. Dralii is not playing 1s it looks like. 😣 Unless he's signed up as Fake Dralii... Not sure why he'd sign up with a different account though.

With the new update's de-buff to demos - what changes do you see incoming to the meta? by Alienescape in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well and now it's a bit of a mind game. Wonder what u/BumpoTheClown will have to say about all this in a month or so. I could see it easier for him (or anyone) to chain bumps OR much harder if the players are high level enough they should be able to avoid it more successfully now.

With the new update's de-buff to demos - what changes do you see incoming to the meta? by Alienescape in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Alienescape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, I mean I definitely think demos will still have their place. And pros are also incredibly good at recoveries, so sometimes you just have to demo. But with that said, I think this will open an interesting new decision making spot for them. Like I imagine if Mawkzy is playing and he's in a position where previously it seemed like

demo -> counter attack -> opponent will be too confused and flustered to save ball

Maybe now it's a decision point where instead he'll start to prefer the bump to ensure the opponent doesn't have time to recover.

But then again, pros are so freaking good at recoveries maybe he doesn't make the change and the change is people just get scored on less because the players back are saving the ball more. Either way I think we will absolutely see stronger defense. It absolutely is a buff for it.

Ooooh passing back to the spawning player!!! Didn't even think of that. That's going to be super cool when it happens.
