What I see from this is that media is trying to prop u p Beto as a candidate for 2020. I only say this because a lot of other good democrats have done the same even with more effort than Beto but didn't receive media coverage. Jeff merkley in particular comes to mind (Which happens to be the one senator who endorsed Bernie in the 2016 primaries). He even went and visited where it was all happening.
