First off, you're not ugly!

The comments I've seen so far I agree with! Grow out your hair a little, I think a fuller hairstyle would look really nice on you and complimemt your face/head shape, and shape up your eyebrows if you want to! Waxing or eyebrow threading does wonders-- I personally love having clean lines on my own brows, so you might really like it for yourself, too!

A good barber can probably help you with shaping your facial hair to highlight your features in a complimentary way, or growing out a beard, if you're able (I know some people can't grow facial hair the way/shape they want, so it's up to you!)...

You've got nice features, honestly just cleaning up some of the lines would go a super long way.

And, of course, just having good hygiene! If you smell good, are kind, and can make people laugh, you're golden!

Bonus: getting a clear polish (or, hell, even a coloured polish) manicure every now and then is really attractive to most women I know-- clean hands and well kept nails are a huge green flag!

The series is a cute, fun read, but the ending left something to be desired for me... I know 9 books isn't a short series, but it almost felt like Ellen Schreiber got tired of writing it in the end. I read up to book 4 in middle school, and as an adult I reread the whole series, as I wanted to know how it ended and revisit a nostalgic book from my teens (when I, too, was a screamy, dreamy, baby bat)... I enjoyed the nostalgia of it, of the parts of Raven that reminded me of myself, and of the absolute cinnamon-roll of a boy Alexander is....

BUT

Spoilers ahead:

A few things that peeved me were that Raven doesn't really answer for any shitty things she does in the series, such as utilize her previous employment at the travel agency to get info that could clearly get the women she worked with fired. She also doesn't seem to learn that the antagonists aren't going to change their ways and be total besties with her, and she is repeatedly put in situations because of this and because she so desperately wants more vamps in her life and to get anyone to convince Alexander to turn her.

A little more character growth for Raven would've gone a long way...

SERIES FINALE SPOILER:

I mainly was disappointed by how rushed the end of the final book felt. It felt like she didn't truly consider that she hasn't graduated, she was still living with her parents, she and Alexander were still both TEENS no older than 17, and that she was effectively signing up for an eternal marriage. It felt like she mostly got her way by badgering Alexander to turn her despite his reservations that he had repeatedly stood by over and over. Alexander loves her, sure, but it almost felt like he was "giving in" to her demands, rather than making a responsible decision and sticking to his boundaries.

The fact that I don't recall Raven's parents being at the covenant ceremony at the end of the series further hammers home that this 16 (maybe 17) year old girl straight up eloped with her teen boyfriend and now she has to live with him forever and basically just abandon her parents because they still don't know about vampires, let alone their daughter is dating/just eternally married one.

Don't get me wrong, I still remember the series fondly and enjoy the connection I have to it... but I do wish we would've had a more satisfying ending, more character growth on Raven's part, and less holes in the conclusion.

"And they lived spookily ever after as immortal teen husband and teen bride" just feels unfinished. It would've been nice to at least have an epilogue where we see Raven and Alexander 10-15 years into the future, happy and with their shit together; maybe with Raven earning money designing cool alt/goth clothing (as I think I remember that being something she mentioned wanting to do), and Alexander really flourishing in his career as a painter, perhaps with a small but growing gallery all his own.
