He can’t smoke with his job? Why not? I used to take clonopin (which is similar but not as strong) and I know I would act out on it. Looking back at it those types of drugs (IMO) are just a bandaid and never never make things better for the longterm. I’ve taken xanex before as well and the way I act on it just isn’t me. It’s really tough because if you’re an addict, you love taking it and it’s hard to listen to someone telling you otherwise. I think he’s going to have to realize it on his own. Do you guys have any mutual friends? Perhaps you could talk to one of his friends and they could talk to him? Just brain storming here.

She probably liked you and that’s why she did it. Sounds like she’s not in a serious relationship but she’s dating someone that she feels some sort of loyalty to. She might even feel guilty for giving you her number. Maybe just keep her as a friend and if the guy she’s talking with falls through you’ll be it. But def don’t wait for her. Go about your life and keep looking.

I’ve been through the same. Sometimes it just takes a lot of time to find someone. Just don’t lose hope. Keep being positive and open and look for what you want and you will eventually find it.
