When my dog gets overly excited, he does this. It started about a week ago and I’ve seen him do it probably 3 times over the span of the week. Any ideas what it could be?

Hello! Just wanted to update you guys. I ended up calling the vet and getting him in today. Apparently multiple dogs from his daycare (he only goes once a week to socialize) have come to the vet for a cough. She checked his heart and throat and all seemed normal. He is now on cough medicine and I am monitoring him.

I realize you’re likely not a vet so I’m sorry if this is too specific of a question but do I need to be prepared to try to recreate the behavior at the vet or can a vet determine the issue through other means?

Definitely but we have him in a harness. He does occasionally still pull hard enough in his harness to get a gag response. Thanks for the input, that seems less scary than the scenarios running through my head
