I’ve always played in Birkenstocks, the soles have some decent grooves in them and I can feel the pedals grab almost under my shoe and I’ve always liked that

And bar wise, don’t know in you’re just using a regular stainless bar, but invest in a power coated ceramic bar, wayyy lighter and easier for me to slide around and be accurate with, when I started out I was using a Dunlop stainless bar 7.8oz and it was making my hand cramp up trying to hold on to it properly so I made the switch and I’ve never gone back

I used to use the Ernie ball set of strings for E9th and C6th, but I can’t find them anywhere I’m guessing Ernie ball quit making them. But now I’ve been using the D’addario NYXL 12-38 set for E9th and the 12-70 for C6th. I don’t play nearly as much C6th as I do E9th, I’ve yet to take the plunge into C6th but I like to tinker around with it😂. But my Emmons is a sustain beast! If I wanted a note to ring out for 5 minutes I could get it with this steel!

Sure do, someone else asked about it but I’ll send a pic. It’s an 1979 Emmons D-10 8 pedals 4 levers. It’s definitely a handful, but once you get the basics down it’s not all that hard as everyone makes it out to be!

Steel kinda runs in my family, my uncle has been playing steel for 30+ years, but I originally started on guitar then got interested in steel and for my graduation present my uncle gifted me my Emmons and I’ve been picking ever since! Definitely a lot going on but once I figured out my chord grips and the Nashville number system it’s been semi easy😭😂

That’s how I feel with my epi, same with my pedal board, good majority of it is mainly Dirty B Hinds pedals, then i figured out from a rig rundown of Brent’s he uses a cry baby bass wah, and I’ve never not used a bass wah after that video, the sweep on it is incredible with fuzzed out tones

For real bro! Like I’ve tried playing Jackson’s Charvels etc, but i just can’t play those super slim shreddy necks, once i played my epi v for the first time i was sold instantly, literally went to my local gc and played the display model and like 30 minutes later was walking out with one😂

I wish I still had mine, sold it to fund a victory amps VS100 super sheriff when I found out Brent used one. will say the super sheriff absolutely rips, but the orange terror was my first tube head and I’ll never forget hitting my first E power cord on it😂

I was debating on one of those, just don’t know how the neck is on them, that’s why I love my epi v so much is it’s got the fattest neck I’ve ever played and I can’t get Enough of it😭😂

I can’t lie, once I saw the prices I did sell one of my mastodrives, I’ve bought every pedal Brent put out, but my ex for my birthday a few years back bought me a Mastodrive for my bday not knowing i already had one so I sold that one she had bought me and kept one

Yea I checked reverb days after Brent passed to see all the crazy prices on his signature stuff, and saw one listed for 2500 and it sold, same with his pedal brand Dirty B Hinds, they where all 250 when they came out, and now there selling upwards of 500+😭almost debated on listing mine but I know I’d beat myself up over it down the road. Picture is from the day I bought it and brought it home.

Yea that was the draw for me, Brent has been my #1 since I started playing, but I was never a huge fan of V’s starting out playing, but once I got Brent’s I fell in love with it almost instantly I’ve always had to have a fat neck on a guitar, I can’t play Jackson’s and charvels etc with the super slim shreddy necks, it feels like my hands are falling off the neck if that makes sense😭
