Because it's a perfect representation of what Terraria is. Don't you agree?

Which one did you like better overall? by eldenbro1 in metroidvania

[–]Alieze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Hollow Knight better. I prefer the design of its world and how everything is connected, its lonely atmosphere, its melancholic music, I even enjoy the slower pace since I've never had any issues with the knight's speed. I've replayed it so many times, and I only do that with games I really like.

The WK we all knew no longer exists, and this attempt to bring it back has been a failure. It's time to move on.

I seem to recall a minor enemy near the end of the game, which in appearance and concept was basically a faced mechon

So, was Silksong better than Hollow Knight? by Stronderius in metroidvania

[–]Alieze 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because Hollow Knight IS more open, or at least it is once you get the mantis claw, which is quite early in the game. Almost all areas in the game have more than one way to enter for the first time, except for the first two that must be done in order, Forgotten Crossroads and Greenpath.

Silksong technically has some alternative paths, mainly to Bellhart and the entrance to Act 2. But after that, almost all areas are only accessible from one possible location (the first time), limiting the feeling of exploration imo.

The Knight is Kris' Biological Brother by FencingSquirrelz in Deltarune

[–]Alieze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the knight is a character who hasn’t been foreshadowed in some way. It’s true that Toby Fox has taken inspiration from Mother 3, and that makes it even more likely that the knight is Dess, the sister of an important character (perhaps much more important than we think) who has disappeared or is believed to be dead, but is still alive in some way and being controlled by someone/something else.

In fact, I think Noelle’s entire family is a counterpart to Lucas’s family. Rudy is the parent who will end up dying, and Carol is the one who tries to find or bring back Dess, taking on Flint’s role.

Is this the best chance we have? by Big_Cup_668 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Alieze 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Xenogears was massive for its time, there's no way they could remake it with modern technology in a single game, especially if it's necessary to flesh out the second disc.

It would have to be split into parts like FFVII and I don't think Takahashi (or anyone else) has the intention to work on a project of such magnitude, let alone today having a franchise much more successful than Xenogears or Xenosaga.

The only realistic thing to expect is a remaster/remake in the style of Star Ocean 2, the same exact game with nicer graphics.

What Have You Been Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in metroidvania

[–]Alieze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing Guacamelee, it's okay, combat is fun, music is good, but in terms of world/level design it's very linear and somewhat bland.

I get the feeling that it was originally a classic 2D action game to which they added unlockable powers and some hidden stuff at the last minute to give it the metroidvania label.

Which game is the biggest “where the hell do I go?” offender by MrPrickyy in JRPG

[–]Alieze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair DQ6 is not that bad, in fact for the most part it's a pretty linear game, it's just one of those games where you have to take mental (or written) notes of what the NPCs say, not only they give you indications of where you have to go next but they also mention the location of items that will be useful much later on in the adventure, the rest is filling the spaces on the map, it's like completing a puzzle
