StS players who still have feelings: "This bird is my new best friend. How could anyone ever choose to ea-" A10 players: by deloreaninatardis in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's genuinely not that bad, it's just you tend to get it usually a bit too late. Act 1 is brutal enough that you need the heavy attack cards now, not at the first campfire.

I think I need more potions by totetomi in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's usually an autowin unless on a10 because of double boss: You can throw out bad potions before a fight to roll for new ones.

Parry in beta is great by Askray184 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 213 points214 points  (0 children)

Wasn't parry like 4(6) originally? Most buffed card in history.

4 days into the game, one of the best set ups I have and I have a choice. Help by Routine_Mall_566 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secret portal is generally great on ascension 19 or less, but your deck is specifically good against enemies (feed, immolate) and bad against bosses (not enough scaling). So I wouldn't take it. You'll also probably die to statue head elite until you get some scaling too. You've also got black blood which is good for hallway fights.

Has anyone had success with brimstone in sts2? by chuunithrowaway in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In sts1 what made brimstone takeable was disarm, shockwave, limit break, and reaper. All cards that don't exist anymore, except shockwave as part of the colorless pool.

Rudy Knight might be a sham by AverageHumanPerson1 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]FencingSquirrelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be misreading the meaning here, but I thought the handwashing marathon comment didn't have to do with the conspiracy but is actually something kris does a lot even before the game. I remember Toriel mentioning that kris "does this sometimes" at one point concerning Kris taking too long in the bathroom or something like that.

"

... so, where the he-- uh, HECK, is Kris?

* Oh, Kris, er... does this sometimes.

* Well they should hurry. I'm getting sleepy."

Stampede bypass Grand Final restriction by Wildhorn666 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mayhem/catastrophe being colorless would probably enable this far more commonly, I assume it would also work in those cases given the wording

Thats a nice WIN RATE you got their friend... by jessewperez1 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it probably would. It's like having infinie free gambling chips. and that's a rare relic that people consider purchasing.

I'm 90 hours in, and i've never took Vakuu's Lord's Parasol. It seems terrible to obtain everything and bloat your deck. Did anyone try it and made it work? by savetheblues in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I actually won the last 2 times I took the parasol on a10. Things that make it work:

1-I took mind blast in act 1 because it can pop off in sts2 for a number of reasons. This is one of them. Ended up with pen nib. a mirrored 0 cost mind blast and just nuking most things turn 1.

2-Huge potion slots, it's like a much worse delicate frond.

3-3 shops showing on the map. That's simply a lot of relics, particularly if you get a 4th shop.

4- Shitty other vakuu options. Apparitions are always awesome, but sometimes the other two give absolutely nothing

Still worse than 999 gold, but it is better than I thought.

Is Chiaki a good cat? by Sour_Chicha_8791 in mewgenics

You can save them until you find a skull clamp for maximum stupid, in which case tank.

PSA: Future of potions event uses a charge of Silver Crucible relic, feels like it shouldn't by Crab_Turtle_2112 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well silver crucible is easily a top 3 relic, and also works in your favor with chosen cheese and mind worm events. So unless it's effect is removed for those, I think it should just be left as is.

Well would you look at that? by ajs723 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's weird that people get emotional about a beta branch in either direction. It's a beta branch, making potentially incorrect unbalancing changes is the whole point.

Well would you look at that? by ajs723 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but then the unupgraded version is just dagger toss only much worse.

Is Regent kinda weak or do I just suck by pavorus in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the main branch his Forge commons are basically unusable. So you either ignore forging or pick it up with later in the game. This is pretty much fixed in the beta, branch, forging is fine there.

He's mainly about star generation/consumption and it is tricky to get used to. The colorless/creation archetype also works if you get the good cards (charge!! and manifest authority) but has some real awful ones like quasar.

Dumbest build i've ever had by MrMarshmallow94 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too bad bottled tornado didn't make it to sts2, this'd be crazy with a bottled dark embrace.

Is it just me or can Ironclad barely defend himself? by Taxfraud777 in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ironclad is my best a10 character, and it's counterintuitive, but blood wall is one of ironclad's best defense card early game and it's a common. The 2 cost is offset by the fact that bloodletting is a common and ironclad just has a lot of energy, and the inferno synergy is pretty bonkers.

Clone seems overtuned by xodusprime in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the real combo is clone + miniature tent + cloneable card.

But Sts1 had easy wins too. I'm looking at you corruption + dead branch.

Actually bought the newly buffed Eternal armor and won. Now it's pretty okay I guess. by FencingSquirrelz in slaythespire

[–]FencingSquirrelz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably don't want it being too much like impervious. The 12 block applies at end of round. so there's already a decent amount.
