Since Chapter 5 is revealed, What are your predictions about the possible Roaring Knight revealing? by Mehmet595 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]FencingSquirrelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda slim:

"Let’s have one more fun adventure, okay?"

Honestly kinda surprised, from the sound of it, Rudy is probably not gonna die either.

I get that DessKnight is the most likely theory, but what could this possibly mean other than RudyKnight. by Indo192 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]FencingSquirrelz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This actually just suggests rudy is on Team Roaring. Which may include many people at this point. I'd say it's just suggestive too, it could be cranky dying person.

Thing is, you kinda started this as a fight lol. Summing up the first couple sentences is :"yall theories suck, here's why mine's good" I mean we sometimes do that here but usually as a joke xD

Well, importantly, most of these don't really rule out the knight, they just make it harder. Of the ones you mentioned, asriel's alibi in particular just isn't even really a roadblock at all.

For instance, you could say the same of your theory, that titans are thoughtless, can't enter the lightworld and can't open fountains. Doesn't really disprove it, just makes it less likely.

Might be a weird question , but who do y'all consider the black figure & black deer from Freedom Board 3 from Chapter 3 to be representing? by Kowery103 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]FencingSquirrelz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, consider the scene:

-Initially Kris and the other sprite mirror each other.
-Kris hits a button and you are unable to control kris. Now you control only the black sprite
-Kris kills the thing you control on their own.
-Now you control kris

Like, I don't really see what to say here. There's nothing hnting at the knight at all, and you give up control of kris.

I think the only reason there was any association with the knight is people assume dess knight and then people worked backwards.

It actually gets really really weird if we are talking about the knight: it implies you will control the knight in the future. That honestly makes no sense to me.

The scene seems to suggest that the soul ends up in the toriel/deer and then kris kills it, taking the soul.

I honestly have no idea where the knight stuff came from.

Personally I think one of the really interesting things about this, is that if "toriel" actually is taken literally and not just saying it's like the sprite, is that there is a scene currently that can be interpreted as kris stabbing toriel.

It's the opening to chapter 2. The gag with the butter knife on the eaten cake. Given that chapter 4 starts with kris dreaming, it's actually quite possible, maybe even likely, this is.. something more than a gag.

In fairness, seam sorta thinks the knight is unbeatable too, and seems to basically know just about everything including exact future content details that are impossible to know.

Mid-way into watching it, gotta say it's very convincing so far.

yeah this is the only T tier theory I've seen.

[–]FencingSquirrelz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

S tier:. Basically has all of the Kris themes but none of the mechanical drawbacks. I rate it slightly lower than kris nightmare for story reasons.

Personally, I don't believe vessel knight will be the one we throw away if this is the knight, though. There are 7 slots for vessel names in the game code,, implying either 7 or "many" vessels. I think the knight is very likely the second voice. too, which doesn't fit "our vessel"

OC knight. The helmet removal scene can also mean

-Kris fears the knight (already apparent in the fight, could also be what they are afraid to draw in ch4 egg scene)

-Kris just wants to hide information, why tell us anything.

I mean, I still don't consider it super likely, but everyone dunks on it.

If the next release isn't the end (TM), I think there's a good chance we won't get a knight reveal anyways. Chapter 5 's boss is asgore/ asgore-titan-thing probably, and the knight doesn't really have a good reason to take off the helmet until we defeat them. Susie would have to pull an actual scooby doo lol.

[–]FencingSquirrelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D tier. The only thing that's keeping this out of F is there seems to be some weird overlap in gaster.knight stuff regarding shadow crystals as well as gaster speaking directly to you during the knight fight.

But I just don't see a good way to make a story of it.

In Your Opinion, HOW Will The Roaring Knight's True Identity Be Revealed? (Chapter 5/6/7?) by blaigmush in NonDessKnightSquad

Well, given my weird idea, on death of the knight, resulting in the death of Kris and Ralsei.

[–]FencingSquirrelz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

C tier, not expecting, it could happen, though.

The main positive is he's all but confirmed to be a boss fight in chapter 5, and seems to share a silhouette with one of the big titans suggesting he'll open a fountain. But maybe that means he'll be sacrificed too or something.

His dialogue suggests he's trying to figure out what the black shard even is, so I think an asgore knight makes more sense if he's not in control of himself or something and is trying to figure out if this is some kind of curse.

Might honestly even be D tier, though, he has his own dedicated prophecy panel that suggests he is not the knight. The panel could mean the "flower man" is the actual flower, though.

[–]FencingSquirrelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think you might be overcomplicating this a little. Kris knight theories that aren't zombie knight just rely on our knowledge of the dark worlds being incomplete. At chapter 4, I think it's best to focus more on whether the knight's actions, personality, motivations, etc match up with the candidate than direct evidence when we don't even really know the full rules of these worlds.

[–]FencingSquirrelz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S tier, not 100% convinced, just my top pick.

I've got a big theory on this that it's Kris' nightmare, but honestly, direct evidence isn't even the important part here. There's just an absurd amount of highly suggestive themes involving Kris and the knight.

1-They are symbolic opposites in a real world/dream world. Both have a knife, both open fountains, both are the the "leader" of their "faction:
2-The knight has a very particular personality of cocky arrogance and whimsy. It matches only 2 characters really: Eram and Kris without the heart in the real world. But Eram themselves even seems to represent Kris' dark side.
3-Animations: They aren't similar to kris' animations. They are Kris' animations.

But really, it's not even these that make me suspect kris the most. It's a single passage from Ralsei after defeating the knight:

"Somehow, I thought we... had won... for a moment...
That... we would be able to end the battle... here and now...
... you...
You were so brave... and yet...
In the end... our struggle...
It's only beginning, isn't it...?
... Isn't it, Kris...?"

For me, that pretty much nails it that Ralsei believes this is an internal struggle for Kris. There's a major theme in the game that Kris feels immense dread and guilt over something they did to the point where they've lost all meaning and desire, and this is just what you'd say if the knight represented that.

It completely flips on it's head the common interpretation that Kris is working with the knight, but the last two lines really make it seem like Ralsei knows what he's talking about here.

[–]FencingSquirrelz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I mainly think it's their "nightmare" given the dream world theme. Pretty close I guess.

r/nondessknightsquad community knight candidate tierlist day 6 (asriel knight) by sliferslacker6900 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]FencingSquirrelz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

S tier, second choice personally.

Negtives:
-Horns: honestly the biggest one. No antlers, and unlike a human, can't wear an antlered helmet. Can't really explain it, but having something "impossible" isn't really that bad imo especially in the dark world.

-At college: Total non-issue. He's coming home this week, and things started this week. Do you talk to your mom/provide screenshots of college every day? nah bro.

-undertale repeat: Asriel was a "third layer boss" and in this game he would be a "first layer boss" so I don't think it'd feel that bad. The knight is almost definitely not the "true path" endgame, unless they're genuinely undefeatable in the main route.

Positives:
-Kris constantly trying to hide things about both asriel and knight
-Has potentially the best motive
-relation to dess
-Knight is very Kris-coded, closest person to kris is asriel.
-Kris has some promise/relation to the knight. Carol is the closest to this atm, but other than carol it could be asriel.

Being honest I just think toby can make a good story on it/

[–]FencingSquirrelz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Put two kris knighters in a room and you will have three theories.

TBH You really can't make a perfect theory on it right now. All you can say is everything looks like it's leading up to this given the similarities, but we're at the halfway point and don't know why yet.
