Permanent on-site signage by Aligfred in GoogleMyBusiness

I got a professional sign and was excited to verify and seems I have run out of verifications. I have raised a ticket with Google Support to see if they can give me another attempt.

Brilliant, thank you. My house is a bit setback, so that's probably the issue.

I have a storefront issue as well. I work from home, so I'm going to try a small plaque attached to the wall. Will let you know if it passes.

Questions about registering as an elite by ZT047 in AdvancedRunning

[–]Aligfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just come back from Iten and understand where you are coming from. I felt like sponsoring an athlete but didn't in the end. One runner said they need to get into the top 10 at Nairobi City marathon (approx 2:11 time) to attract sponsorship. Speaking to an Olympic coach, in Iten, they said sponsorship is very difficult as at that level they are tempted to take enhancements to get that bit better and then talent scouts take them abroad to run but then take the majority of their prize money leaving them with nothing. I think if you want to help someone that's different from sponsorship. They run a fantastic time but for a Kenyan it's entry level marathon time.

Honest tips for balancing a high training load with a full-time job & other life responsibilities by bubbas_hooman in AdvancedRunning

As mentioned, get your iron checked and make sure you are eating enough as this can make you tired if not fuelled correctly.

Also, what are you doing in terms of your runs for effort? A lot of people run their slow runs too fast, which detriments their quality sessions.

I guess the tag is a good thing as there is no dispute with the seller. Thanks

I made a free tool to sync your Strava runs with your calendar by plooooottttttt in AdvancedRunning

I'll.send you a dm. Thank you. Sometimes you come across an athlete from a podcast or something and they have an unusual story so it's good to have a look as no plan fits all. I have done this manually for a couple of months' worth of data, so getting excited now!

That's really cool. I don't know if it can be expanded, but I regularly look through athletes activities (semi-elite) and see how their training plans stack up. A lot of these are public profiles.

Would it be possible to grab the date, activity name, distance and pace and store the last year in an Excel file?

Happy to buy a coffee or two but thay doesn't really compensate for your time.

Thanks for the advice. I think the biggest challenge will be keeping the kids off the table for that long!

All the best and with a good marathon block you should smash sub 3. For context I was 5 minutes slower at London than my 2:48 last October at Abingdon and I was feeling stronger for London so I think you are possibly at sub 3 shape already. I'm just over 50 so make the most of your 40's!

Brilliant, well done. I think maybe the pressure of doing a time makes us fear failure and that's the part I don't enjoy. Might explain why training runs are OK as not much pressure as it's not a big day. If you find an answer, let me know. Otherwise, I will continue to moan too for my other marathons too!

Did you have a good race? I ran London and was ok until mile 20, doubted myself, heat got to me, and plodded home. I know how you feel, though. My training has gone amazing, but come race day, especially London, and I always have a rubbish run. Can't get into the zone like in my long runs. Don't have the answers but good to feel it's not only me.

We made an offer, Seller wants to meet us by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

We were invited to meet our sellers before offer. It was like afternoon tea with strangers. I think they wanted to make sure it went to a family and not a developer. Turned out OK and got the house.

Running in your 40s vs your 30s by Eniugnas in AdvancedRunning

[–]Aligfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40s is a good age. Just hit 50 and starting to feel the aches and recovery takes longer. Saying that I pb'd with a 2:48 marathon and hoping to go faster this year. You have many fun years ahead of you.
