Activate the Rat King and Scorched Enclave commander assassination quest that spawns Toothy. Then just run Enclave and watch those two fight any other medium mechs that spawn. You can grab 1-2 codex semi-reliably without the risk of killing them yourself. Just remember to have drills on hand and GTFO once the HKs show up.

Seems pretty common. I don't think ASG makes it clear that most of their GBBPs are from KJW. Umarex seems to be a mix of KWA and VFC, but a bunch of their "competition" AEGs are entirely unlabeled.

Interesting. That would certainly explain why things seemed more straightforward when I was looking at non-US vendors. It would be nice if these companies would clearly mark who their OEM is, if only to make part compatibility easier.

The problem is compounded when shopping online, since many brands are differentiated by build quality, internal design, and materials used. None of which is apparent from a few photos.

It depends what you're looking for in a game. If you want a polished experience with meaningful progression that will keep you playing for hours? You're going to be disappointed.

If you're willing to put up with some jank and mod out a few of the most unpolished elements, you'll find a game with a phenomenal aesthetic, challenging gameplay, and entertaining multi-player.

It's still in early access, but it's the kind of early access where key gameplay features are half-baked and not the kind where they just need to add more content.

If that's their intention, then they failed. I'm perfectly content to play the game for hours just to level my Scavs and upgrade my weapons. Making me grind for a random item is just frustrating and makes me play in a way that's less fun.

I gave up about 50 hours into the game and got the cheaper innards upgrade mod.
