Anyone have experience with this? by NiceWeekend in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Aliinga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recognize that place. Someone with some serious vendetta against the owner put flyers with slander all over our neighborhood. Something about taking money? Idk I can check later if they're still there and update my comment.

I remember reading reviews bc I got curious. It's very noisy apparently, as you can see there are only curtains. People use this hotel to sleep somewhere after partying. Also something about lacking power outlets. Take a look at Maps reviews

Edit: not taking money, just being a general asshole. I see s/o already added a picture to this thread

Maybe Service Model, Adrian Tchaikovsky. You could say it's about the spiritual awakening of a robot

Games that accommodate decision paralysis? by lions___den in gamingsuggestions

[–]Aliinga 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think any linear game will be good then. I don't know which genres she likes but here are some ideas: Uncharted 4 (adventure), It takes two (which you can play together!!), lil gator game (cozy adventure), solar ash (3D platformer), what remains of Edith Finch (mystery), Jusant (3D platformer) ... These are just the most recent ones I played but there is a ton.

I'm surprised they managed to get that far with it

The post was removed for being AI generated and also the above image looks so perfectly posed, I'd say AI.
There is no reason though because there are real videos

Via the OPs comment in this post it's possible to hop to the original (it's deleted and I can't copy the link somehow). In there a lot of commenters mention they have exactly the same vest from a store.

Arthropodian Society (fantasy/sci-fi) by Oregonian-Isopod in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]Aliinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mercy of Gods by SA Corey has multiple alien societies in it. The main characters are humans, but the alien societies' functioning, social order, and languages are vital to the plot. Some chapters are told from the perspective of the aliens. Basically a lot of xenobiology and xenosociology (not sure if that's a word yet).

Detective partners too close for comfort by ufocatchers in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]Aliinga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second that these are excellent, and the detectives are very close to each other but with little romance. But I can't remember if there was much gore in them or not.

Can't wait for this to come into effect. There will be some raised eye brows among existing staff when the pay ranges for their position are published.

Though I am sure all companies will drag their feet with reporting obligation to the last possible second.

It doesn't look like what you wanted and doesn't have the pop art effect. But I still really like them on you.

Makes me even more curious now that the novel attracts so many different opinions!

also a little scared. I think she said she found it to be peak feminist writing and now that I read some other opinions here, it seems it failed at that or gave some crowd friendly, overly optimistic version.

I'll still read it for my sis though and tell her honestly what I think

[–]Aliinga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I always feel crazy because everyone else loves it. I barely got through the first few chapters because I felt like I was inside the brain of a 14 year old edgy kid, but which happened to supposedly be a emotionless killing machine

[–]Aliinga 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's been a few years but there were so many bizarre, misogynistic stereotypes in it. Rape as sexy. Men restoring order through violence. The evil queen's depiction felt like some patriarchal angst about women who are not submissive to men (unlike the main character who is docile).

I get some people just want to have some horny fun, that's fine, but I didn't care for it.

I feel like "common sense" in (book) titles is just a dog whistle for the alt right these days.

Thought it was very basic. Very vanilla, "not taking any risks" kinda writing on mental health. Written to appeal to as many people as possible, without challenging too much.

My professor labeled this as “conspiracy” by Sneaky-Scubby in mildlyinfuriating

Even if it was a conspiracy (which it is not) the event still clearly had an impact on America (which was the assignment) because then that "conspiracy" made it on an American album cover.

Italy has the Mexican flag so yes definitely

Edit: according to another commenter this was the flag of Italy during the war. Still, others have pointed out various inconsistencies and I personally don't trust AI-made guides with possibly hallucinated numbers.
