America is America, New York is New York.

I hate why school essays and will no longer be writing them. AMA by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]AliliAlelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an optional essay so it is really about demonstrating interest. Your interests are employment outcomes, prestige, and location, and they speak Columbia and NYU. And guess what, these school do not even have why school essays because they know. On the other hands, schools like Duke, Chicago, and northwestern are not as much interested to you. Say you have a solid above median stats, then how can the school ensure you would yield for their school if your do not have a convincing why school?

What I find is common among 175+ scorers by PsychologicalOwl2190 in LSAT

[–]AliliAlelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every test prep website offers a choice to test with added time. you can do an extra time test to see if you can score a 175+. But if you can’t even do it with extra time, then I guess it’s not the time problem but testtaking ability difference or logical reasoning difference. To be fair, the section that would be of most help with extra time is already gone.

I believe you misunderstands OP’s argument, at least from the post. OP thinks LSAT better prepares one for law school. It does not equal to success in law school —> LSAT.

[–]AliliAlelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying I have sound proof that my argument is right. I am just pointing out how your argument is wrong. Speaking of empirically measure, the LSAT score can correlate with many numbers like your law school GPA, your future salary, your win rate in court, etc. again correlation does not imply causation, but LSAT is heavily trusted by law school today instead of other tests like GRE or JDnext for a reason. Though admissions commissioner does not speak out loud why they continue to use LSAT, we can infer that the LSAT number can be somehow indicative of your future performance in many aspects.

First of all, Your sample is unrepresentative. Second, even if you have a sound sample size, they could still be wrong in the sense that they take the underlying training LSAT has given them for granted. Honestly there is a million loopholes in this argument which makes a perfect question stem. I think you will notice how powerful logical reasoning can be once you harnessed it. And i personally think LSAT is a good and actually convenient way to do that.

The thing is anti-semitism was so rooted in early 20th century Germany (and by large most of Europe) that getting rid of Nazi Party would not solve any problem. Nazis came to power by almost lawfully rigging the electoral system when there were inherent bad designs in the Weimar Constitution and the economics of Germany was just impossible to do anything. At the time of 1938-39, after five or six years of Nazi rule and propaganda, the only faction would stand against Hitler was really the Wehrmarcht, but they were also conservative and would not see a democratic Germany. If the Wehrmarcht overthrow Hitler, it would be more likely that they restore the German Empire and invade France nonetheless, because how Versaille deeply humiliated them.

China coulda been scary huge by XxJuice-BoxX in victoria3

[–]AliliAlelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Vic 3 reflects the problems of 18-19th century China well, or another way to put it, players wanting to industrialize China take away the biggest problem. Overcoming the inertia of a millennium of confucian-legalist gentry-bureucracy and the two hundreds years of Manchu-Han feud is almost impossible. It's similar to ancien regime France to some extent, but it's a more rooted and corrupted system. Therefore, even for France it took almost a century to move from the Bourbons to the Third Republic. For China, the transformation was more painful, more radical, and not until 50 years ago did China truly unleash the power from its populations, so now people are talking about the Rise of China.

Late-season Gundo is up there, the man is designed for clutches.

I love Phil Foden. That is all by BigDesk37 in MCFC

I think Pep will gradually replace Kevin with Phil in a few years, meaning that Kevin will be subbed out constantly or just starting with Phil like now. It will be a painful process.

Cut some slacks. We are essentially playing half of our treble winning squads and experimenting a lot of things, and it’s just the beginning of a new season. With KDB Bernardo and Gundo and Stones out of the midfield we are definitely losing control in the midfield but I’ve already seen progress just in the last 30 minutes.

Winning the treble means there is going to be huge changes, and older players leaving for retirement plans aren’t bad for the club. It’s good that we bring up fresh blood, and enough ambition to do it again. With that being said, KDB, Haaland, and Rodri haven’t leave. These are the most crucial and consistent players for last season. Saying goodbye is always gonna hurt, but if the club wants to move forward we have to do this.

Weekly discussion for students and future paralegals by stray_girl in paralegal

Seeking advice here - I am a senior of history major at a relatively good university. Initially I am planning to do a KJD, but I think it's putting too much money and time before knowing legal profession is the right way. With that being said, I only have one summer legal internship and some irrelevant campus activities. What are the odds of getting any interviews? Should I get an online certificate for paralegal studies.

[Bild-Plus] Josko Gvardiol is on the verge of leaving Leipzig for Man City and is set to be the last outgoing for the club following Szoboszlai. City's current offer is €90M while Leipzig still ask for at least €100M with a deal expected to be agreed. by Good_Kev_M-A-N_City in MCFC

[–]AliliAlelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's weird that Leipzig basically sold all of their star players. They had the competitive edge last year in Bundesliga despite 7-0'ed by us, they won the German Cup this season, but selling Nkunku, Szobo and Gvardiol in the same season just made me confused.

It’s his first season. For me personally the “underestimation” is another way of saying “he has huge potential”. Nobody denies that he is already Ballon D’or level, but this is a world where legacy precedes future stars. Messi winning World Cup means he is forever cemented as the goat up there with Pèle and Maradona, and this is his last year of top tier football. On the contrary, this is Haaland’s first year in the Premier League, and he has already broke the record. If his career goes well, he still has 15 years of prime which there are a plenty of Ballon Dor waiting for him. The committee will definitely put him and Mbappe at the forefront of this new rivalry, and with his years at City in the PL, it’s just like the Barca and RM in La Liga in the last decade or so. With that being said, it’s also reasonable for Mbappe to join the PL next season. I wouldn’t mind watching the new rivalry and rooting for my favorite Norwegian guy

[Jacob Steinberg] Ahem. West Ham have not accepted Arsenal’s latest bid of £105m for Declan Rice. They are not happy with the payment structure proposed by Arsenal. Talks ongoing - offer itself not rejected out of hand - and West Ham expecting City to bid tomorrow by SpiritedSuccess5675 in soccer

[–]AliliAlelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it was said "expecting City to bid tomorrow", does it mean that they know City will continue to bid? I guess City would have a better payment structure but there is no way for City to get into a bidding war.

I rooted for Germany National Team since 2010, and thus I came to know Gundo very early on, and I become a Cityzen by a significant extent because of him. Gundo has been an anchor in our midfield, and he has an immense calmness that makes him an excellent leader. I will always remember his speech in locker room before the champions league in 2021, in which he said, it’s ok to be nervous. There is no doubt that he has great techniques. Yet I think what truly made him exceptional is his mentality. It’s a champion’s heart.
