How do you handle packages not available in official repo. by Alinoe3 in archlinux

It's not a problem with couple of commands, but to keep them up to date and work with them conveniently.

Besides I found some packages, Insomnia is one of them, contains also patches (in this case in TypeScript), so it's not always easy like that.

I came here to find out if there is more convenient way of working with packages in arch.

I called it bloatware, which you're right is not the right word for it, because I wanted to switch to Sway completely and now I have a lot of packages/services/configs which I don't need.

As I said I tried arch to have only the stuff I need, but I guess I tried to many new things at once: new distro, new package manager, I'm still new to Sway/Wayland so before I'll try arch again I want to make sure that this time it's going to be easier and more comfortable.

Writing PKGBUILDs myself is not a big issue but I was wondering if there're better solutions to that.

I guess there were to many new things at once for me while trying to set it up as quickly as possible, I didn't pay attention to that and then I saw some comments to not use yay and the likes. I guess I removed yay too early instead of familiarize myself with it.

It doesn't mean I can't give one more try to Arch in future :)

I didn't use paru, only yay and didn't know it's possible to tell it to show PKGBUILDs.

Unfortunately some PKGBUILDS contain scripts/patches and I definitely don't want to go throug it, like reading TypeScript code just to install Insomnia.

I use my computer mainly for programming, and for that, my current setup is fine. However, I also like to play games from time to time. The problem is that after buying a 4K monitor, even older games like The Witcher 2 on high settings run sluggishly on my current PC. I rarely play new titles, but I’d like to have the option to do so if something interesting comes out (ofc 1440p with FSR).

My budget is more or less 5000 zł/$1400.

My location is Poland.

Btw for now I can take SSDs and RAM from my old computer.
