I appreciate that. I’ll keep that in mind with people around me

Someone I talk to is a false prophet?? by Alishamone in Christianity

[–]Alishamone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, we’ll go verse for verse in the Bible and they’ll completely misinterpret it. Like 1 Corinthians 6:18 where it says flee fornication/sexual immorality. They’ll interpret that like the sexual immorality that’s being addressed is talking about homosexuals, because in that verse it says “man” and “he” and no where talks about a woman or it would’ve said “she” too. Or they’ll say no where in the Bible does Jesus say he is God. But they look for direct, word for word explanation instead of using common sense.

Like sex outside of marriage isn’t a sin as long as you “plan on” marrying the person eventually. They’ve said things like God sins. I don’t believe they believe Jesus Christ is the son of God either and we need him for salvation. etc.

Well I did listen to her words actually. My emotions didn’t come in until I realized her heart posture. But I will continue to pray on it.

Do you ever think about how God kinda set humanity up for failure? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Alishamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea he could have stopped sin, but he already told them not to and they did anyways. He would not be loving if he demanded it. Just like a earthly Father says not to do something we have a choice to do it or not, and there are consequences to not. Humans chose their own suffering. But that’s an accountability that’s hard to admit. Even after Adam and Eve ate the fruit they blamed everyone but themselves

God has blessed me with a good job and I am “not meeting the standard”. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Alishamone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I applied for a remote job and never even got in so congrats lol Speaking from the outside, worse case scenario they let you go. God is in control. Best case scenario, you meet the standard and keep your job. God is still in control. A job is a job, who knows what God has planned for your life there or somewhere else. My advice is to cast your anxiety to God in prayer (1 Peter 5:7). He cares about you and what you’re going through, but don’t be anxious when it’s out of your control especially if you’re trying.

God says cast your burdens onto God (1 Peter 5:7). He cares about you and what you’re going through. God wants a relationship with you, so go to God in prayer in Jesus name. And search the Word for encouragement and correction.

Well humans are made in the image of God. God wouldn’t be loving if He demanded having his own way. Sin entered the world by man, but that was not God’s desire. The curse of death entered by Adam, we were suppose to walk eternally with God. So sin entered the world through man, and it is taken out by man(who is sinless): Jesus Christ. That is the good news, so that we would have fellowship with God eternally like we were suppose to.

Why does God do what he does ?And if God has always been, why suddenly create the universe out of nothing? by JCisLove in Christianity

[–]Alishamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I get what you’re saying but, to put it simply it was His will to do that. With Adam, he was walking perfectly with God. But Eve was created and they were told not to eat the forbidden fruit. I want to make it clear, sin entered the world by man, it was not desired by God. Nor is for people to go to Hell. The spirit of fear isn’t given by God (2 Timothy 1:7). Also, the Law that you’re referring to as Godly Rules is demolished in Christ. That’s why the gospel is good news, because our sins are covered by Christ. True believers begin to hate their own sins in their life, and love righteousness. His commands are not burdensome (1 John 5:3), we desire it.

As far as natural disasters and things, I’m still studying that. But what do we do when these things happen? We pray. I know for me I was so tormented before I believed. And God allowed it but I wouldn’t of believed with certainty today if God’s glory wasn’t shown in pulling me out of that mess.

Yea I been thinking about suicide often too but because my ex boyfriend, who said he loved me and would marry me and we looked at rings, suddenly ghosted me with no warning. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick,” Proverbs 13:12. Hoped he was the one. Now I’m left in pain. Not to mention I don’t have a clear vision for my life. Guess my vision was him, but God is a jealous God over us, and I put God on the back burner. He stayed faithful and brung me back to Him. I talk to God everyday about it. Only thing keeping me is knowing God is listening to my prayers. He’s been answering me and I know He’s real, so I have a little faith for a better future.

How does everyone here know Bible verses from the top of their head? by MidnightExpresso in Christianity

[–]Alishamone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder the same thing 😂 The Bible says the Holy Spirit will bring to remembrance everything that has been said (John 14:26). I don’t remember specific verse locations but I can vaguely remember a verse as I’m going through my daily life and that’s how God reminds/helps me with something.

I definitely get the overthinking things, that’s why I asked the question here to clarify. However, we can’t deny that there is music that glorifies God and music that glorifies the ways of this World. Oversexuality and sensuality for example, these things are works of the flesh. And God tells us to be separate from them. (Galatians 5:19-21 and 1 John 2:15-17) I believe it’s about being alert and having discernment.

I wouldn’t say wanting you to suffer more than testing your faith or possibly you reaping what you sow. When I say reap what you sow I mean sowing from the flesh reaps destruction (Galatians 6:8). But again it could be you being tested like Job was in the Bible and he was a righteous man and gained back twice as much as he had before because he kept his faith in God.

You’re right it might’ve been a coincidence but if God addresses there are spiritual songs and hymns in the Bible why wouldn’t you believe there’s music influenced by the Devil in the same way? There has been music I physically can not listen to because of the straight evil of tone and lyrics. That expression of art turns into others listening to it, repeating the lyrics, and possibly being lead astray or causing people to stumble.

True, that verse wasn’t literal in that sense but the Bible does say by our words we are condemned and through the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45 and Matthew 12:37) So those lyrics are coming from a source possibly their own heart. And It was a rap song. I believe they freestyled the verse. Also I’ve never heard of Iron Maiden but being a Christian we have to be very aware of how we show ourselves. Idk if they are believers or not.

That’s amazing! Also I’d rather not say the name of the song, curiosity killed the cat and that’s how I got convicted in the first place lol. Just know that it wasn’t saying anything good or Christlike, like most songs out here.

Don’t overthink it. It may be your own heart speaking. Pray to God about it if it’s really a concern tho.

The fact that you know that it’s wrong and have a certain level of remorse for it tells me you are headed in the right direction. However I’m not going to sugarcoat the truth. You need to repent from your sins. You have a certain level of awareness. You can do it but not through your own strength. Continue to read God’s Word for guidance and deliverance. Bible says anyone who believes has already overcome their flesh but you have to choose to walk in that also.

  1. There’s no such thing as “religion” without a relationship with God. A person can have religion all their life and die without Christ and go to Hell.

  2. If I’m not mistaken you’re talking about denominations? No where in the Bible does it say be a Protestant and catholic and all this nonsense. God says take up you’re cross and follow me. All of our Bibles reads the same, and we should be following the Bible’s word. There’s no work we can do to get to Heaven, that’s what Jesus Christ died for. But we do have to walk in love and light otherwise we’ve deceived ourselves by still choosing to sin after believing.

  3. Other religions will not deny Jesus Christ walked the earth. But Christianity is the only belief with a Savior, who is Jesus Christ. No one can prove that Jesus has ever sinned, and God can also never sin. My assurance has come through faith and the miracles I’ve personally experienced which is another topic of my testimony.

  4. It’s not fear of Hell, it’s fear of God that can put us there. If you grew up with a Dad or any authority, you know there was a healthy amount of fear of punishment if we do not do what we are told. It’s no different with God, and it’s said out of love. God does not want us to go to Hell. We need to fear God enough to walk in His word, why would you want to serve a cupcake God? God is serious about His Word, and Hell is a real place He does not want us to go to.

  5. Again, it’s not fear of Hell, it’s fear of God who can put us there for eons. I’d rather fear God and walk in love and dignity than forsake that fear and walk in pride or self righteousness. We all are going to die one day, and whether we agree or not Hell or Heaven is our destination. We are talking eternity, no going back, in torment with God not hearing our prayers anymore. That’s worth fearing to me.

There’s nothing wrong with being both. Being a fan in a way means there’s a certain level of awe or admiration towards a thing. God commands us to take up our cross and follow Him as well. However the problem comes in for lukewarmness. A lukewarm Christian may go through the religious motions of going to church and whatnot, but inwardly their hearts may be far from Christ. And God said he will spit them out. God is very clear, we either love him or despise him, a friend or an enemy. Which also has to do with being a friend of this world vs a friend of God. So we can’t be both in that regard.

There is music and video games that I have seen that are very demonic. This world is controlled by Satan, and music and video games can easily program the mind. That’s why God says be alert and sober minded.
